Which of these would be a better sacrificial layer for winter

I sealed our Fusion in grey metallic back in late October/ early November with Jescar Powerlock. I know there is a lot of rave about topping it with 845, but I don`t have any, and I`m not looking to buy it right now.

Currently I have some HD Poxy and Some Meg`s Ultimate liquid wax. For a sacrificial layer to help get through the PA winter which of these 2 would be a better topper?

The Jescar Powerlock will not last very long if it is run through the really strong soaps of a car wash, for example..
This is why a lot of people like to use something over it that will last longer like the Collinite 845 Insulator Wax..

I would get your Fusion clean, and apply the HD Poxy over it for the best protection from the 2 products you already have.
The Meguiars Ultimate Wax will not be as long lasting as the HD Poxy..

Thanks everyone.

I probably won’t wash the car at the pay and spray. If anything I’d stop and rinse it off with just water and then do a rinseless

Ir just wait until it is comfortable enough outside to do an actual wash at home

Man oh man, I did nothing but rinseless washes with a spray wax as a drying aid, last winter on my Malibu.
and that alone was tough to remove. I`m thinking the quality name brand stuff really works.

Mary, for drying aid give Ammo hydrate a try. Stuff blew my socks off.

I`d just LSP it with FK1000P and not give it any more thought..or work. Only the second LSP that`s gotten my stuff through Winter OK, and it does it without [crazy-number] layers, just four or so.

Thanks for that response. I might try it. I`ll only use it in a mid sized sedan right now. If I wash it once / week best guess as to how long a bottle will last?

I’d guess over a year. 1-2 sprays per panel

2.5 sprays on my hood

1 on front fender.

2 on door (coupe big doors)

1.5 in rear quarters.

1trunk lid and one rear bumper.

I like to spray directly on vehicle to spread it around. Use with PFM’s with no problem “clogging the towels”

If you like waterless/rinseless washes give Frothe a try. Best way,I feel, to wash your car w/o a hose

I vote with Accumulator, I have been using FK1000p for around 10 years and it lasts for me from October through April/May, driving in the Northeastern winter. When I get a chance in the winter I give the car a good rinsing, body and especially underneath.
