Suggestion for paint correction needed.

Can anyone make a suggestion about what I could try to get this out of my paint? I tried an orange pad with a porter cable and some old menzera intensive polish I had and it hardly made a dent if at all from what i can tell. Paint is on a 360 modena. I`m open to suggestions, but don`t want to screw this up as it`s on the roof and don`t like the thought of having the roof on down repainted.... Or is this something for a pro to deal with? The imperfection can be seen to the right and left of the light and runs about 2 feet from the center rear of the roof over to the passenger door edge. Not hugely noticeable but I hate noticing it on such a nice car.

Hard to really tell but that almost looks like clear coat failure... Perhaps someone with a better eye can give a more definitive answer.

If that`s the case though, repaint is your only option

IF the issue in question is that "whitish clouding" that`s most obvious in the 8 o`clock portion of the pix, then yeah that`s what it looks like to me too.
 
Well not what I wanted to hear, probably will stop by a body shop customer of mine to see what they think. I just noticed there`s a spot on my rear quarter panel as well. Might just drive the car and give it some patina and then down the road look at fixing the paint.
 
As stated by ShaneB it`s hard to tell from the pictures...

I have seen "issues" that looked like clear coat failure but they polished off.
A PC does not have much power and an orange pad (depending on the pad) is a medium grade cut.

It may be something "for a pro to deal with".
or
I might suggest a Meguiars DA Microfiber Cutting Disc with Scholls S2 "shock cut".
This will give you a bit more "cutting power" with a PC.
(Be sure and clean the mf disc after a few passes and do not use too much down pressure)
NOTE: With a mf disc you will need to "prime" the entire surface of the pad first...do not saturate it.
...on the other hand, if it is cc failure, you will know within a few passes of the machine.

When you used what you have did any of it clear up?

What is the Year, make, model of the vehicle?
