Replacement Shop Vac Hoses???

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
Over the weekend I reached the end of my patience with the hoses that you get with the shop vac...seems like I am fighting with it constantly...and don't get me started talking about rolling it up to put it back in storage:dnaughty

I hate to change only because I don't want to buy new attachments....anyone run across a good hose that you can use the shop vac attachments with, that is easier to work with...thanks

Since you are into detailing professionally, I'm guessing that your shop vac takes 2.5" hose and accessories. It looks like the standard sizes are 1-1/4" and 2-1/2" with the odd ball Ridgid 1-7/8" used as well. The 2-1/2" seems to be the most common on the higher hp units.
I did a quick Google on "2-1/2" vacuum hose" and came up with quite a few hits. Epinions had a few as did Amazon.com. Both of those sites usually have some consumer ratings listed and you might get some ideas from there.
Home Depot listed a few replacement hoses. www.homedepot.com

Charles I'm not a pro detailer...I just play one on here.....LOL

Thanks for the help!

I did a search on here there was a thread some time back that had replacement hose but they where not as stiff as the OEM shop vac ones...the color was orange and you could get them in 10 and 15 footers

These look like they would work very good to get the carptets dry after a good shampooing. Do you use these AL-53??

Thanks that was what I was looking for, not that I want to replace the attachments but the hose is what I was looking for

^^ That attachment is nice because not only is it great for all the things mentioned, but when you pressure wash the carpets and they're soaking wet, you can use it like a scraper to get the majority of the water out before you vacuum it.

this was the cheapest place

Mr. Nozzle Shop Vac / Dust Collector Tool Kit

do not know what shipping is ..but price is good....I run mine over alot and comes right back to normal.....

Scottlee from the forum turned me on to this hose....best investment made..the tools are nice...better quality than the OEM tools....

I've got a RIDGID vac...which I'd highly reccommend to each and every one of you.

Go for this hose...it's really nice...

And I've got a few RIDGID vacs, and my favorite by far is this one right here...

It's the perfect size and man is it powerful!! It does NOT have casters which is why I like it. My driveway has a slope to it, so anything with wheels is a no-no as it rolls down into the side of the car. :(

Sorry for the sell-job...but I love my RIDGID vac!!

By the way...did I mention that I work for the company that makes the RIDGID and CRAFTSMAN wet/dry vacs??? I'm the man behind the packaging graphics/logos/signing/literature/etc. I've been there for almost 9 years now...so...if you have any questions about RIDGID or CRAFTSMAN vacs I'll do what I can to answer any questions...and NO...I can't get any freebies or 'deals'.:sorry:

^I wish they made a small Ridgid like that portable one that was 6hp or 6.5hp.

These look like they would work very good to get the carptets dry after a good shampooing. Do you use these AL-53??

This is what I use. Very effective, though I would like one a little smaller and in clear plastic. Has anyone ever seen that?

Mine is the 5HP from Craftsmen and its a great machine....with a 15 foot hose I can put in on one side of the car and do not have to move it around...That hose kit YNOT is what I am looking for...going to measure hose to make sure that it can fit...thanks

The RIDGID WD4050 (shown above) has 5.0 Peak HP...plenty for me!

Not for me! The difference between the 6hp & 6.5hp was enough for me not to go back. I'd like smaller hoses (1.25") with smaller attachments.

Has anyone found one like this. I would like it clear so i can see if im picking up stuff. Ridgid has one very similar looking its the car claw will it work the same as the Mr. Nozzle???

Sorry to bring back this thread but my moms car is in need of a good shampooing and i need a nozzle to suck the water out of the carpet. I bought a new Ridgid 12 gal 5 hp wet/dry vac so that will be the vac i am using got it becasue my dads old craftsman 2 hp wasent cutting it :lol2:
