i`m guessing it`s an abs plastic or some sort? what would i use to dress or protect this? tire dressing? 303 aero protectant? owner previously used some stuff that would run when it gets wet.

I was going to recommend Natural Shine as well, I picked some up a few weeks ago for my car`s interior. Leaves a nice satin finish without looking glossy. Easy to apply, doesn`t streak.

It was my first ever non silicon tire dressing. Even though I seldom use it for tire dressing much anymore I still like using it on plastic trim that is still in great shape

I`d use a no-white-stains type LSP, maybe Meguiar`s UQW or a Trim Sealant like Ultima`s TTG+. Unless the material is so trashed that nothing else will work, I simply DO NOT USE the popular ERV slime-approach on exterior plastics. When I absolutely *HAVE TO*, e.g. on the Tahoe`s running boards and their steps, I use Autoglym`s Bumper Care, WONDERFUL product that doesn`t run/etc. for me. Never hear of anybody else here using it but IMO it`s the best such product out there.

I just used Solution Finish on my black window trim last week. Love it. Jet black, satin finish AND there`s no need to frequently re-apply it!

tried a few things. nothing stuck to it until i got to carpro perl

megs xpress wax. hyper dressing. and blackfire tire gel were the few items i tried.

donbeezy- Glad you found something that works for you...gee, that was really oxidized/whatever, huh?

Can`t help but wonder what GG Rubber Prep would`ve done to it.

donbeezy- Though it`s made for Rubber, I find the GG Rubber Prep works great on hard plastic exterior trim, usually gets it ready for the Ultima TTG+ even if there`s oxidation/etc.

The mckeeys wax cleaner for plastic works well too with a medium soft brush right after initial wash but before final wash
