Mold Stained Leather Seats

Hi Everyone

I have some mold stains on my leather seats and i am looking for suggestion on how to remove the stains. I have tried lexol leather cleaner, as well as steam from a steam machine and i am not making progress. When i used the steam i didn`t want to destroy the leather so i wasnt all the aggressive so i might try that again, but looking for what you guys think

I would try some diluted APC and a gentle brush, but if steam didn`t take that out I don`t know how successful APC and a brush will be...
 
Germaphobe here. I would just source another set of used seats of some sorts....

Lord know what murks in the foam underneath.
Especially with all those perforations for all those spores to get in..
 
The steam should kill any bacteria, the discoloration and staining is what you`ll have to worry about otherwise.

Try going back with the steamer to for-sure eliminate bacteria and crap, and keep it from growing more, then work on stains further
 
I`m not sure that you could kill all the mold buried in the foam with steam from the surface ... a product with bleach (safe for colors) might be worth a shot, or you might consider some seat covers

You remind me of one of the contractors I had POST SANDY that came out for estimates.
I cut and ripped out the lower 4 feet, etc and I was looking to SPEND money ....

Contractor comes in the house. Tells me, call me if you start getting sick and really want to redo XYZ.
He was trying to be eco green.
He started on this long winded story on how places like India, etc, climates are very humid. And there is mold everywhere but their immune system builds up resistance to it, etc, etc. I tried to get him out of the house faster, but he just had to spread his eco-green philosophy.

I can see how one would try steaming a isolated spot if there was mold in 1 particular spot.
Maybe the pics I`m looking at in this thread are different than the pics you are looking at. :dunno::dunno:

That`s funny

I was just giving an idea of what to try before buying anything else/trying something more aggressive.

Tbh, I`ve never dealt with a situation like this, I just wanted to try and contribute

I`ve never had anyone accuse me of being very eco-friendly-minded haha
 
There is absolutely nothing wrong in being environmentally aware.
Seems like years ago, before I settled down and got 2 munchkins under the roof, I was a huge outdoorsman.

Imagine going out camping/hiking knee deep into the forest and on Day 3, you come across huge swaths of land, just completely clearcut. Hike out another 4 hrs, and once again you are surrounded by pure green. It`s really a eye opener and I`m pretty good at how I use ~consumables~.

Use the right stuff, the products that Mold Remediation Pros use.

IIRC tthe stuff I use is called Mold Stat IIRC. Or buy a "Mold Removal for Leather" product (I`d get it from The Leather Doctor/Roger Koh even though it`s a hassle to order from him).
