Worst vehicles to detail?

The carpet on some VW`s, the type where you have to manually remove larger debris that becomes woven into the crazy fibers.
 
For me it`s my wife`s Town and Country... and she knows it too, I think she even snickers when she ask me wash it....

Our minivan was time-consuming but low-effort, so for me that worked out to "pretty easy". But several hours per layer of KSG sure did get old, let alone when it needed correcting...it wasn`t the big panels but rather all the weird stuff like sliding door-related areas and all those angled slots in the grilles. Washing it actually went a lot faster than the Tahoe for some reason and just *SO* much easier; I used to wash the MPV all the time but I procrastinate on the Tahoe something awful :o

That "slots in grilles" makes me think how today`s Lexus grilles would be awfully time-consuming.

Never have done either, though, ... but just sayin`...

I must say, though, that community fire/safety/rescue squad departments that are made up of volunteer fire and rescue personnel take ALOT of time in cleaning/maintaining their vehicles. My hat goes off to them for not only the time they put in for training and the services they provide to small local and rural communities, but in the pride they have in their vehicles and how they look in parades.

Conversation vans (especially raised roofs), trucks with no tonneau cover, suburbans, and any other tall vehicle. I hate using ladders for anything.
 
I did my fathers 02 black surburban z71 and it was the biggest PITA. Roof rack, same issue with the roof being too tall, let alone getting to the sunroof.. Lots of panels... luckily not too much plastic trim and panels are relatively flat...

Oh man! I haven`t done a conversion van since the mid 90`s! At the time I was doing high volume work for a large auction and we were literally told to climb on top of the roof and buff them. Of course I was only 135-140lbs back then! :D
 
IMO...well, more IME...people who find doing tall vehicles a PIA oughta get a bunch of good work platforms. Simply makes it *easy* and I really don`t see how anybody can do a proper job doing (especially the inspecting) the roofs of those without platforms anyhow. I even use mine for the larger sedans as it makes it *so* easy to inspect the roof (and even the hood of the Crown Vic) from all angles and reach across the centerline (FWIW, I`m only 5`9" so maybe that factors in).
 
I like the creeper that Civicclutch mentioned, but since I don`t do this for a living and my own car doesn`t require it, it is out of the question.

Think I may give a 2016 Ford E250 Econoline work van a shot this weekend so I van try Crystal Serum Light + C2V3 (no EXO).

Perhaps the towmotor w/ pallet will be of assistance. Only one way to find out...

That would be funny to witness. I haven`t detailed a conversation van since the late 90`s early 2000`s too. Was it just me or did almost all conversation vans have a unique similar smell? Not a bed smell but distinct to conversation vans. Carpeting? I remember some really old vans that had tiny b/w TVs mounted on the back wall of the vans. Never understood that.
