Who`s Next?

I`d still like to buy the forum.

This place has been "home" for years to a lot of us.

That would be awesome!

I`d hate to lose the unbelievable historic content in this site. We were able to bear witness to so many technological changes, and innovations. A movement away from one style of machine polishing to another... So much great, and still relevant information is here, and there is more to come.

Agree with danlc95. But in my case, i`ve been taking my own notes, usually in the form of cut/paste onto my evernote, for a short period now. If the forum folds, I still have that info with me. I try to keep it updated with info that I think I might forget or tips/tricks that I may find useful. I refer to it from time to time for refreshers.

Did ron mean to say, "I`d still like to buy [from] the forum" ???

If they only wanted one forum, I would assume they would try to sell it. There are other forums like Detailing Bliss that would not mind the extra traffic. Phil used to sponsor this forum before purchasing Detailing Bliss from Carlos (if I remember the history).

I agree to some extent, but big companies do strange things and i am not sure anyone would buy it. It`s a driver maybe but not a profit center.

If this place implodes I`ll be on Detailing Bliss even more than I am now.

It`s the only other detailing forum worth a hoot. I`m here because of the members and guys like Ray because I can learn by reading and asking questions. And unlike slot of other places I get great answers and sometime pictures too. We have a great culture and hat is not just Autopia it`s US, you, me and yes the guys like Ray. I have met some guys I call friends here. When TID closed I felt that`s the end but when Todd came over he continued the culture and it worked. I hope that if this this place changes we can keep our group together in a place line detailing Bliss. See you all over there if the lights go out. It is a great forum and we would make it better for sure.

RonTopia Forums

Am I "reading" more into this than the "facts" present themselves that because of personnel leaving at Palm Beach Motoring Group (PBMG) that associated businesses, and hence, this Autopian Forum may be changing hands OR closing down???

Ron has mentioned that he would like to "buy" the forum. Does this imply that it is, indeed, up for sale OR that PBMG is undergoing a "restructuring"??

I just want to know what exactly is going on.

I will say this as a long-time member and having stated this many times in my "few" posts, that I would greatly miss ALL of you who have contributed to this detailing forum should it end soon. I am hoping that it will not. Needless to say, this forum and its contributing members have impacted my detailing "obsession" hobby greatly for many years and this "family" of like detailing professional and hobbyist are just that: family!

I, for one, would hope that this forum will continue as is and that we will continue to be "family".

We all hope the forum will stand the test of new ownership.

Everyone here can rest easy, both Autopia-Carcare.com & Autopia.org are here to stay with myself at the helm and with Jesse and Will helping out.

Over the years, Ray has helped Autopia grow and prosper into what it has become today. Now that he is leaving the torch has been passed to me to continue building upon the blocks he has already laid. Yes, it is true that PBMG was sold - however our new owners realize that there is something special on Autopia.org. I`ve been a member of dozens of forums and I have yet to find one which rivals the comradery and vast wealth of knowledge that can be found here on Autopia.org. My mission is to preserve the awesome nature and open discussion we have here at Autopia.

Having Nick & Ray leave us at PBMG has been bittersweet. Both of these guys have personally taken me under their wings and spread whatever skills and knowledge they had to me. Not having them around isn`t something that I look forward to - yet at the same time I realize that they have both left due to amazing opportunities that they were able to take advantage of - Nick is now the head of McKee`s 37 and Ray has made his dream a reality with the successful launch of his detailing business. I consider both Ray and Nick good friends of mine and I wish them both nothing but success. Pat & Scott - A Big thank you to both of you for everything that you have done for both forums over the years and I hope to see you both at Detailfest!

Change can be scary, but believe me when I say we are here to stay :bigups

If anyone here needs anything or has any questions just shoot me a PM or give us a call at 877-855-3125

Thanks for chiming in Paul. This thread reminded me of the same kind of thing when Todd left.

But it is good to hear and should give everyone that warm and fuzzy feeling.

I wanted to post the scene from the movie but it has bad words in that scene.

Thank you for the update Paul. Now, if you can just give us an update on Autopia Connect. Ray had indicated that something would be coming.

Thanks for chiming in. It`s always the silence from those that are in the know that fuels speculating of the worse case scenarios.

Agree with all the others on this forum. Ive poked around on other detailing forums over the years, and the feel of this one is just so much better than the others

Thanks for the info :)

As a consumer it nice to get updates and info so we don`t have to listen to speculation and rumors....
