I`d do an extended testdrive and see if you`d really like *driving* the new one better. IME it`s often easy to love the *idea* of owning a certain vehicle a lot more than you end up loving the actual experience.
Agreed. It`s hard for a lot of people to accept that just because it sounds great, doesn`t mean it`s practical and won`t get annoying.
But my thoughts on this are (and this is simply just my opinion) I don`t see much point in spending even more money for essentially the same exact car with a few extra perks. Not to say that those perks may not be awesome, but how do you know you won`t end up in the same position a few years down the road for the next improved model?
I can kind of relate to you though, as I have an ST and have contemplated if the new RS would be a smart decision to move into. My thoughts were that even though it has an extra 100hp and is AWD (not necessary for me), it`s basically the same exact car as mine with different badges and interior stitching. For me, that alone doesn`t warrant the extra cost, especially when that cost is almost $20k..
But at the end of the day I`m a firm believer in doing whatever it is that makes you happy (within ones means) given how short life is.
