My new Rogue has never been detailed. I will be the first, with my whole 1yr of learning, will be finding out how much I`ve learned.
My first move is to make a game plan and products list. I do have a few things already but will be more than happy to order what is suggested.
Here she is :

Don`t have wheels yet. 17" tires, plastic front wells, fabric rear wells. Vinyl molding all the way around the bottom.
Tinted windows. Chrome plating plastic stuff. Fabric interior. High gloss plastic console inserts.
I feel I should protect everything, fabric, tires, plastic/vinyl, paint.
Plus I`ve heard Nissan has thin paint. I do want to polish her then seal, can you wax a coating ?
(I gotta breath)

Congrats on the Rogue. OT...How do you like it so far? Being new I would indeed seal all the trim and coat the wheels and glass. You have many choices on a LSP. I have heard the Gyeon can coat is really amazing and easy to use.

Congrats on the new ride Mary B! I would coat that bad boy if I were you. Get solid protection on it as soon as you get the paint perfect. I used the Uber coating on mine, you could coat everything on the outside with it, paint, trim, wheels, and glass. Then you can top it with whatever wax or sealant you feel like playing with of you want. That color should be beautiful once you get it polished up. For inside trim I like the Ultima Interior or Wolfgang sealants. They bead like crazy and about anything wipes right off if you do have a spill or drop something. Whatever you do I look forward to seeing the results!

Thanks BSkip333, would have never thought of Uber coat, looks good, I`m adding what I don`t have to my fav`s list and will be ordering this week. Ultima is in cart now.

I`m leaning toward sealants and wax and this is why. Most Autopians like to play with their cars, right? So using a coating is a waste of time and money if you are planning on waxing and taking good care of your new car. For non-Autopians coatings are a good choice because they want something that is long lasting and low maintenance. Waxing over a coating defeats the purpose of the coating, which is hydrophobic effect and dirt rejection.
Blackice will darken the red paint, which is not bad if you are going for that look. How about Blackfire sealant and wax. The combination on red always looks great on red.
Don`t worry about the paint thickness too much, though you may find Nissan paint on the soft side. I have owned 2 red Nissan Zs and a black one and the paint was soft. My wife has a Nissan Juke and the paint is harder (silver). Do a test spot and enjoy your new car!

Mainly sealants and wax.

Coating him is looking very good, what would you suggest?

you have a good selection to choose from.

I would recommend Optimum Gloss Coat if you choose the coating route.

Good point if you are one to polish and try new things. If so the sealant route is the way to go n

Thank you rimccarty2000, I do like applying sealants and wax. Plus the prep. that goes with it.
I have the Midnight sun, and the Crystal seal. Are you referring to BF WD all finish paint protection, if so it goes in my cart today.

The BF Wet Diamond topped with wax does have a nice look too. I used that on my truck before the coating. It is super easy to apply and remove and beads/sheets nicely. I am guilty of trying new stuff on my vehicle constantly but dont want to be polishing it all the time to try to preserve the clear coat so I coated and just play on top of it lol. The possibilities are endless. The PA Master Sealant would look great on that color, also the Rupes 808 has a nice look. I know, Im not helping lol. I usually try stuff and once a month or so do a Reset wash and use something else. Thanks to Ron I am currently using the PA Gold Zirkon. I use my Mom`s Altima to try other stuff as well to test out. I`m sure some Nattys Blue would make that color pop nicely also. .....I am a sick, sick man

Congratulations on the new ride, Mary B !
Looks great !
If you apply a true coating, then putting a wax on top of it, it will come off quickly, since coatings are made to reject most anything that lands on them..

In fact, the best thing to do to a true coating is to wash it with CarPro Reset regularly, to help keep the coating clean..
I know that the coating makers say you can put their own quick detailer, etc., on their coating, and that is probably ok..

But again, the coating will reject most everything until around the 3rd-4th-year and then the thing that makes it look and act the best is the CarPro Reset wash..

+1 on the Wet-Ice over Fire! I use this combo during the warm weather months and it looks great.

Congrats on the new ride Mary.

Thanks, BFWDPP in my ACC cart as I type. I have the line up once i get this. It was so dirty I let them wash it so I could see her, will gladly polish & seal.
Waiting on a real polisher this week, hope.

Nice! That should speed things up for you. I have a Rupes 15 and it is plenty for me since I don`t do it for a living. I have some of the Boss microfiber pads and the fast correcting cream, that combo cuts fast and finishes pretty well considering. Can`t wait to see your finished results.
