Looks great Brandt! The orange paint looks dripping wet.

How long did the detail take you?

Love your polisher collection picture.

I`d say about 15-18 hours total- now keep in mind

I work very slowly and this is car #2 of 6 so I got 4 more to go, best not get myself too tired, right? :)

I take cars Friday night after work and then go to work Saturday 7-4 (day job)
I usually am able to get decon/wash done frist night and up to as much as claying and test spot or two

It makes for a long Friday and Saturday night though.

There was a lot more I could have done but he was beyond happy and gave me a 5 star review on FB as well.

WOW !!!!!

It would take me longer to tape it than the rest of the job.

Beautiful work

yea it was a pain

I noticed a few weeks ago that ACC sells some masking tape that says it is flexible for going around edges like that- that is all I could think of at the time- was "why did I not buy that?!"

everything else, though.. its the exact same car as mine except for different engine (6.4 over my 6.1) - interior is same as mine except for diff gauges/ cd player

the paint was like riding a bike, I`ve been around a few Challengers in my day :)

I think 15-18 hours is normal. It would probably take me that long too.

Thinking of taping the hood graphics makes me tired already LOL! Your tape job on the mopar logo is top notch too.

It came out great.

Hopefully Ray reads the comments on the facebook page to hook you up with 200 points.

Thanks. I got practice on this one first. I think the folds to angle the tape looked cool- and I just noticed the nano easter egg

Came out great, he`s definitely going to win many more shows if he keeps it that way.

You need to add these to your inventory, they make precise taping a breeze:

I have the green 3M stuff, as well as the 3M blue vinyl. Much prefer the blue. Tough stuff and it holds better.

The blue one in my pic is regular as the green one, just a cheaper option(3M derived though still, i believe). I bought both to test since the low price of the blue worried me, but it exceeded my expectations for the price and i had no issues with it on tight turns ( used it for taping off textured plastic areas on partially painted side mirrors.)

Brandt !
Incredible, beautiful, perfect, Job !
Love that gloss and clarity !!
Speaking about masking tape -
Any masking tape will "stretch" a little if you are careful and that always helps going around curves, corners, etc..
You are doing the correct process by folding it down as you go around those circular/tight oval parts..

And as Migue has shown you - the 3M 1/4" tape is even easier to take around those places and I frequently lay that down first and then come back with my regular stuff and tape up against that tape..

Are you taping up those letters because they dont like getting a little light polishing on them ?

thanks Dan...
I was taping them because I was afraid to snag them with the Nano pad and possibly knick them or raise it up some from where it was taped-- it was VERY tedious trying to get just a hair over the vinyl

I was able to get inside the mopar M initially but figured better safe than sorry with the tape-- plus once put a little bit of the green tape on the orange car the contrast was pretty cool

I try to have a good time when I`m detailing - otherwise it feels like work - and nobody likes work unless you get paid waaaay too much

Brandt, car looks sick, awesome color. Great job sir. Took your advise with Poorboy Natty Paste on my wife`s gun metal flake Challenger, great shine.
