Sorry to ask this basic question.
What is difference btw metallic n non metallic colors on cars?
I have honda in black with these flakes in it which are now not visible due poor paint condition.
And are there different subclass of waxes for mettalic and nonmetallic paints??
what I know so far is that natty`s white and red are for light colors while natty`s blue and black are for dark colors.

You just made me a fan of purple.

Absolutely stunning color. Maybe it`s just the wax... :)

I definitely have the itch to work on a different color after this thread!

this is all IMHO of course as I have never actually painted a car, I just correct paint with my Rupes

metallic cars have metal flake in the paint (hence metallic name)

do you have any pics of the issue on your paint? someone might be able to provide some suggestions

there are different waxes that bring out metallic better than others... for instance with Poorboys Nattys Red and White enhance flake (red more however)

I have noticed this on my own metallic vehicles (black challenger and grey frontier- both metallic colors)

I personally wouldn`t buy a vehicle that was not metallic unless it was some sweet Mopar color

hope that helps

Okay, I will share the pics soon.
I needed suggestions whether to go for paint correction or just hide them.
bcoz the car is 10 yrs old ( I bought last yr) and the paint has faded at many edges, its clearly looks like car has white borders.
and I dont have pain thickness guage meter to assess. So reluctant to correct it. Will share pics soon to be sure what to do.

512 touched on some of your questions. As far as the "poor paint condition"maybe it just needs a really good cleaning? Have you tried taking clay to it? Or maybe just a light polish, like Poorboy`s SSR1 or even their Professional Polish could clean up that paint (after you have decontaminated, of course). If you could post a pic, that may help

where are you located? perhaps a member is close that you could take it to for inspection

the paint thickness gauge is a blessing and a curse - it drives me MAD! haha

sounds like your clear is failing .. I would go with Polish w/ Sealant which is gentle but leaves a great shine of what ever is left.. chances are that you will be looking for a paint job at some point :(

when he mentioned white edges...i was thinking the same (well, not the PwS part, cuz I`m not that advanced)

I did clay few months back, and then glazed it with HI GLAZE. This improved some looks but swirls n scratches were huge.

Man, I am not from US and in my city probably I am the only car owner who washes his own car!
Wil share pics,it might be noticed from those that car paint is done and only option is hiding them up.

I hope not that would be the case. But lets see. I just bought a da, then it would be useless for me for now.

Yup white edges. I had no idea about this when buying as it was the first car we were having.
