The moment when the squeak finally gets to you...

From my 2007 Audi A6 Avant. I polished the wood finish out once before, but its gotten all scuffed up over the last 80,000 miles so its time to do it again. There were also some squeaks/creaks coming from small joints where bits of soda or general gunk had made a home. They are now fixed.

I love that scope .
Mercedes Benz parts department has great lubes ,greese , silicone all good for squeak .
back in the day I was a mb mechanic and used fluke scopes before they came out with the factory lap top

Ok, so I actually did some work on this and here are some pictures. Trying to clean things up after 186,000 miles

The cup holder cover scratches/scuffs

Some wet sanding on the cup holder cover. This was taken before I finished out the sanding

And finally the finished product. I did fully disassemble the main frame to remove all of the pieces of wood. These parts werent wet sanded, but instead were just polished out. I did some of it by hand and cheated with the DA a bit using it more like a buffing wheel. To finish it off I put a coating of CQuartz DLux on all the wood as well as all the plastic bits. It came out looking darn good and is probably one of the best looking center consoles in a 180k+ mile car.
