Mini make over for my new to me garage!

So the past couple of weeks have been crazy since getting moved into our new house. One thing I was sure if is that before any real work goes on in here I needed to get it up to par.

First on the list was the flooring. Just your typical smooth concrete floor. I decided to buy the rustoleum epoxy garage floor kit with the speckled finish. For 100$ plus the added cost of a few misc supplys I figured it would be a much better and safer alternative.

The kit comes complete with almost 2 full gallons of color and 2 quarts of activator that get mixed into the color. Also a powdered citric acid wash to get the floor etched. I also hit the bad spots with ZEP degreaser and a stiff bristle brush.

After prepping I got to rolling out the floor. As I rolled I dropped the speckles and continued on. Overall I am happy with the way it came out. Not perfect but cars will be in and out so it will get abused.

Before.

After. I do plan on doing the sides in white at a later date.

Next was getting the lighting done. Originally I was going to get ballasts and led bulbs and hardwire it all in. But by the time I did that it was going to cost way more. So instead I bought 5 of these led lights and decided to mount those and run them to a gfi 5 way strip.

The lights are 6680K and 1681 lumens. 63 led per unit. Mounting them was as simple as drilling some holes and knocking in some anchors then running the cords. Very happy with how brite it is now.

Was also able to get my compressor in and running to.

Thanks for looking!

nice garage ... just remember not to put your tongue on the pole in the winter ... unless there's ... never mind :)

looks good. nice idea with the lights..im kind of leaning that direction as I have noticed the lights mounted up top get quite expensive quickly

Thank you! Between price and trying to find 6500k bulbs for the overheads it gets very pricey. I had about 300$ total to do the lighting like that.

That floor turned out great. Let us know how it holds up!!!

Thanks. I will be sure to update

...and the heavy duty stripper pole. Seriously though, nice job.

Too Funny !!!!! :) :) :)

Congratulations on an awesome work/play space !

Beautiful, well thought-out work there !! I love that you have the power panel inside, so its will be so easy to run new circuits anywhere you want.. Win-Win !!!
Your ride is so beautiful - love those wheels and tires on it !

Are you parking 2 cars in there?

Looks like my garage without the pole.
I have my wife park on the RH side to prevent her from hitting the wall. And no one is allowed to get out on the wall side.

Thanks!

Thank you very much! Eventually I will get a sub panel and wire it up that way.

The floor looks great!

Any plans for the walls?

Thanks. Yes I plan on doing the walls white.
