so the right side of my garage is pretty dark when working on a vehicle. decided to pick up a light off amazon and one from SAMs. the sams light won. 35$ 5k color and 4000 lumens I think.

I was wondering which way should i mount them to the wall. horizontal or vertical? I will have one mounted at the front of the wall bracket and one at back end of the bracket

Is that the led one from sams?

I was gonna get some and mount em angled at the wall and ceiling.

The lights are always horizontal in every shop I have ever seen - And you need a lot of them all the way around if you want to see really well from about any angle..
What about Costco's light ? Did you look at that one ?

no local costco for me

at what height do they normally mount them horizontally?

Since fluorescent tubes are for general illumination, I've always wall-mounted them horizontally so they illuminate more of the shopfloor/work areas.

transhmanssd- IMO most people can't have *too many* lights. With the switches done right, you can always turn some off in the unlikely event that they're too bright (and in that case, just wait until you're older ;) ). I have literally *dozens* of 8' tubes and I still wish for more.

hung the lights today. got 1 more to hang. probably put it in the front of the garage.

hooks were hung at 3 1/2 feet. chains can be lowered for lower cars but they start to tilt towards the ground a bit.

.. I wish my garage had outlets on the sides .

I wish the electricians (whom I eventually ended up throwing off the job/property) had wired mine the way I told 'em to! But yeah, they are handy. Gotta GFI them if you're spraying water of course.
