This is a detail I did last year. It involved full paint correction with wetsanding. Bike was dropped off in terrible shape. Not driven for at least two seasons full of dirt and dust. I don't have the full process but typical wash and degreased.

Polish
HF da with 3 inch
Megs MF cutting disc
LC green and white pads

D300 with M105
M205

Sealed with Menzerna Powerlock
Collinite 845

I erased some pics and don't have the full before but these show the condition of the paint.

After compounding deeper scratches remained. This one was in the bottom left. Wetsanding consisted of 1500,2500,3000

nice save, Harley vivid black paint is notorious for scratching just looking at it. it takes constant work to keep it looking good.:bigups

Looks great, did you also end up wet sanding the rear fender? Anything done to the wheels?

No wetsanding but same process. Wheels were endlessly polishing with Flitz and some steel wool 0000 where rust had formed. I spent the majority of the time doing the chrome. I used Flitz and Mothers chrome polish. The blueing was terrible and took a vast amount of my time.

Beautiful work on notorious paint! I like how your wet sand pattern is uniform. You should consider upselling the bike details to a full coating like Optimum Gloss-Coat. It'll add hardness to the clear and can be applied to all of the chrome and metal too. Most bikers I've met want to wash or clean their bikes as little as humanly possible, so a coating is the perfect protectant.
