Coating recommendation

Hello,

I am looking to coat a new 2016 vehicle. I have been detailing (recreational) for a number of years, including owning a polisher so I am versed in correction, lsp proper application etc. I want to coat this new vehicle and I have literally spent hours researching which coating would be best for me. When I say that I am looking for a coating that is basically fool proof. Not that I am not capable of a more advanced product, I just want to not have to worry. I really want the best protection I can purchase, with ease of application and also a coating that can be applied to all exterior surfaces including trim. And finally something that beads and sheets well. I have literally looked at everything from Optimum Gloss Coat, Carpro Cquartz, Gtechniq, Gyeon, Migliore, 22PLE, etc. I have information overload lol at this point just looking for someone to point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Kamakaze Myabi, probably the easiest I have ever used! A good 18 months.

Mike ..... I watched Todd Cooperider's application video of Kamikaze Myabi, and he recommends disposing of the microfiber towels used during product removal.

What type of microfiber towels do you use?

Here is some honest advice... no strings attached... just pick one.

Asking for a coating recommendation these days is like asking someone "what is the best wax?" 10 years ago. There are just so many good options out there that you will never receive an overwhelming majority vote towards one product.

We've used & tested a lot of different coatings throughout the years, and I can tell you they have all performed great for a long time. Hydrophobic properties can begin to fade after a year or so, depending on how it is maintained, but the gloss is something that will stick around for years. So again, just find one that sounds good to you, and go for it :) In a year or two, you can try another one if you want.

IMHO the "easiest" to apply I've used are the DP Paint Coating and Pinnacle BL. Pretty foolproof - spritz, spread and then wipe. Here are my recent DP Paint Coating results:

I've only used OptiCoat, CQuartz, Wolf's Hard Body (not sure if it is a coating or a super-sealant), artdeshine and BF (plus the above, of course). Honestly, none are all that hard apply except I haven't figured out BF yet. Trying it again tomorrow. If at first you don't succeed and all. Have high hopes for it.

If you charge what Cooperider does you can throw away your towels. I soak and wash right away without issue. If you leave them to dry then they are garbage.

The Pinnicle Black Label Coating is by far the easiest coating to apply. If you can use a quick detailer, you can use PBL coating.

LOL.. so I guess I just became that "whats the best wax guy" great haha. Well that is good advice and I can see that correlation, of course without the experience sometimes it can be overwhelming. Thanks for the reply, actually I have been following your articles for a long time now Zach, so I respect your opinion. Thanks.

Do we think that all these companies with coatings actually have a patented coating that is different then any other coating?

I think they are all the same.

How much money would it take to come to market with not only a coating but with all the exact same products every other new company has now a days.

Shark tank 101, license it.
