My Frontier was coated with PBL v1 in early December 2013. While I feel there might still be slight remnants of the coating left under the Hyrdo2 I recently applied, it is time for me to move on. I just got Essence last night. I want to use that….but I figured I would at least play around with some of the LSP’s I have on other areas of the truck.
Truck sits outside 24/7 unless it’s getting special treatment in my garage.
Here is my plan that I will begin to carry out once I get home this evening with the wash/decontamination.
Hood will be polished with Essence and topped with ____ (top 2 or 3 choices win)—see my on hand lsp list below---yes I know this is not being used as intended but I purchased it so I can play with it however I want
The vertical panels on the bed will be from my AIO+ spray choices and either Rupes Yellow foam or yellow microfiber finish disc..also have Hydrotech tangereine but the marring is minimal thanks to the coating and proper wash methods so this would be a longevity test not a test of how well the AIO cuts.
I will leave one side of the vertical bed panels with the AIO only and one side with AIO + spray wax (highest number of votes win of course)
All four doors are up for grabs if anyone has any bright ideas.
The roof I am thinking about doing a straight essence test but I could split it up if anyone has anything on my list they want to see tested.
Polishing duty will be with Rupes duetto- I have a feeling rupes yellow foam and same colored polish will obliterate all the marring on this paint (it was previously polished down with a megs dA drill adapter kit and 105/205 when I was first wetting my feed with polishing a few years ago)
Pads available are Rupes MF finish disc, Rupes Yellow/White foam pad, Hydrotech Tangerine pad 5.5 thin. Whatever pads I chose or are suggested to use I will obviously use the same one per each panel/polish respectively.
I think this is the whole list-I checked twice
Oh, Tailgate will be polished down with a finishing polish and topped with Hydro2 lite only to test that one out too. OR I could do something else..this is all up for discussion of course
