higher end cars?

how do you find higher end clients that are willing to pay for the great work. Now in the winter I'm looking to do more high end cars. It's getting cold out so I bought a nice heater for the garage but still looking how to bring in the better clients that are willing to pay more money because I will do their car only that day. Any ideas on how to get the nicer cars in? This summer I did a newer Bentley and many BMWs, looking to keep with those type of cars.

You either live in a higher end neighborhood, work out of your immaculate, well lit, extremely organized, garage, and they see you as they drive by..
And you Never, Ever, load up a zillion vehicles in front or up and down the street, and make it look trashy...
And when you are not working, your immaculate house stays that way, and no one would ever know you had a Detail Shop behind those beautiful garage doors...

Or you go find a really nice Independent Higher End Shop that only works on say, German cars for example, and sell them on using you as an Independent Contractor, to Detail their Client's expensive cars..

I tried working for an independent use car lot and they wanted a brand new car for $150. I did a few but not worth my time when I can do a regular car for $150/200 and takes me a quarter of the time. I see lots of nice cars drive around my area so the cars are here. not sure where they live. is they a good way to promote to the higher end cars?

I went to a local Ferrari repair shop and did one for free. After that things fell in place! We also don't give you a choice in level of correction. Only choice is the finish. Trust me, the word will spread and if your work is that good you will be fine.

You can't argue with success!

Or contact car clubs, like Ferrari, Porsche, Vette, BMW etc, and offer "car care classes". That will get your name and face out there. The people that will do it themselves would do it with or without you. The ones that are on the fence may call you to do theirs or call for advice. Then they either say I can do that, or I can't do that...........

Then they have a name, face, someone that they "know"

I know they all go to the golf course / country club (eventually), just not sure how to market them... Get a free golf club with your detail? J/K. Upper-class people also tend to read the business section of the newspaper if you're looking to advertise that might not be a bad place (Newspapers are struggling and the price of ads is probably down)

When I got into computer repair as a teen I put flyers around upper-class neighborhoods and had more calls than I could handle in a few days. I doubt that would work as well with detailing, but you could try something similar (local flyers to the right homes)

I'd guess you'd have to be a big part of your local car seen so everyone knows your work and eventually comes to you for corrections.

Word of mouth is always the best and I often come up with referral programs to entice old customers to recommend new customers (I always get more customers this way with minimal costs). Follow up with the high-end cars you've done offer them a free spring interior cleaning or exterior if they refer someone (or something like that)...

Rightaway -

No, used car lots is not what I was referring to and thank you my Hermano Ron, for pointing this out..

The 2 examples I posted way up there are what I did to get more business than I could ever do in a year, and went for years..
I ended up working all year long and was able to work with that German car repair shop to keep the cars coming in a more manageable pace, in addition to all my great neighbors with their Ferrari cars, etc..

And I see Mike Lambert did the same thing and look how well it turned out for him too..

Of course, this also brings the question to you - Rightaway - are you confident in your skillset and experience to handle higher end cars now - today - and keep the Clients long term ???
These people want a perfect job and will not accept excuses, stories, etc., double talk, etc.., you are either totally in charge of this project ( and they can tell if you are), or not..

You become totally in charge through years of experience that were not just working to work, but more working to learn how and achieving higher levels of skill...

You will need to be using products that are not going to hurt anything but enhance everything, the correct products for higher end vehicle interiors, etc..

What have you learned through research and experience on higher end cars that make them sometimes harder to do than a normal daily driver ???

Your website needs some work - there is too much dialogue in it that only Detailers would understand and most of the general public would not.. I would never put anything on my website that would be all in Caps...
There are sentences that are grammatically wrong..

Try to make it look and read as succinctly as possible with what you are, who you are, where you are, a good headshot of you so they can see who they will be dealing with, a few great pics of your work, only 1 car or vehicle panel in each picture, no distracting stuff behind the pictures, (frame your shots), the shop and floor have to be perfectly clean and organized in the pictures if they are included, and I promise you, even after all that, some people will still not understand perfectly what they are looking at, but it will be ok.. :)

Walking in and doing one for free is how I got into a few high end dealers and then when their customer comes asking about getting their car done your the one that they are delighted to recommend, its word of mouth and that needs a few freebies to get out there, but it works.

is there any type of advertising that works, post cards or one of coupon packs?

I believe in your case, when looking for those higher end cars, your work is your advertisement. Word of mouth is a powerful way to promote. And to do that you have to go above and beyond what customers expect
