Looking for a vacuum

rightaway

New member
I'm looking to replace my 2.5 hp shop vac for a real auto vacuum. I have been
looking at the metro vacuum on Amazon. Are they good? Which model is better?
They have so many to choose from? Or is there better option in the same price
range? I need something with more power. I'm looking for something small but
powerful

the rigid are too big. well the ones that I see at home depot. I hear great this about the metro but looking for somebody that actually owns one

I have the metro vac & blo

You've heard the old saying "suck the chrome off the trailer hitch"?

Well this thing will suck the hitch of the truck !

It's that good. Only down side is bags are smallish.

I must have something wrong with my Vac and Blow. I mean the suction is decent. Not like anything better than a regular shop vac.

I have a Vac N' Blo and like it. I like all the different attachments it came with, but don't really use them often. Just like Ron the only problem really is the size of the bag. I would say another problem is you can't use it for anything wet like a shop vac.

I'll take pics of mine tomorrow. I never put the wheels on it etc. It sits on concrete when I use it and nothing but scuffs really on mine.

I bought a Rigid 4gal at Depot.......love it.
I put the optional bags in the canister so it stays clean. The optional muffler definitely quiets it down.
They sell a Rigid car kit which comes with an 1 1/4" HOSE and car attachments for $40.
The included hose is cheap but usable . You can buy a Rigid 10' 1 7/8" pro hose to replace the one that comes with it. I only use that for vacuuming the garage floor .

Been looking at that myself

I just picked up a Vac n blo portable recently and love it. Very powerful for its small size and very quiet. I also agree with the small bag size being a bit of an issue but they aren't terribly expensive and I can afford to replace them after each detail if needed (less than $2/ea.) Best thing I love about it is its a great blower to help dry the car off and very easy to carry around. The air coming out is filtered, just be sure to use a separate clean hose (one that's never been used to vacuum anything) when using it as a blower so you don't end up blowing debris that may be stuck in the hose onto your car.

Before I had that I have a shop vac from lowes. Basically Lowes' shop vac brand comparable to the Home Depot Rigid one. I actually still use it as needed when I have a big cleanup job that may be too much for the vac n blo (in terms of volume of crap needing to be sucked up).

Either way, id say make sure you stick with a 1.5" hose. I have also used shop vacs with the 2.5" hoses and the attachments are just too big and bulky to really get into tighter spaces in a car.

This is what I have had for almost 10 years, and its still great - Amazon.com: Metro Wall Mounted Vac N Blo SR.: Automotive

It uses a long cloth bag that will take a lot of junk and still work great..
The cloth bag can be pulled out easily, turned inside out and shaken, etc., washed, etc., and put back, and they sell replacements..
I still have the original cloth bag in mine and the replacement has never been needed..
There is a wall bracket mount for it, it has wheels, and is very easy and quiet to use..
With a couple of attachments, the most efficient being a long thin crevice tool for getting in between the seats and the console, and under seats, and that little place to the right of the gas pedal, over and under it as well, you should be able to deliver dirt free interiors back to your Clients, as I have for all these years..
Good luck with your research..

I have Rigid WD4070 and a Metro vac and blo. The Metro has better suction but much smaller capacity and not a wet/dry vac. If I was getting ONE I would get a wet/dry type.

i got it down to 2 different wall mount vacuums.
either the hoover or vac master. anybody have either one of theses?

I have had a metro vac and blow for a number of years now. Nice little vacuum. You can get a permanent filter to replace the paper bag which is a nice upgrade. I rarely use it since I got a Bissell garage pro.
