Is it worth putting Souveran on top of Deep Gloss 3.0 ?

Ok Accumulator,

Just off the phone with Collinite. The #915 Marque D' Elegance has 25% more carnauba and a coconut scent vs. their #476 Super Double Coat wax. The Collinite guy said I can't go wrong with either. So now I'm more confused on which one to try...
 
I used WGDGPS on my metallic black challenger a year or more ago and topped it with DoDo Blue Velvet, followed by DoDo Purple Haze and then Supernatural

I think I liked that look better than the two layers of PBL I currently have it on

definitely overkill but thanks to this forum that word is no longer in my detailing vocabulary :)

as far as your OP...if you dont see a difference don't use it..but i can't imagine it doesn't at least add that warm 'nuba glow

I know when i use the souveran liquid spray it darkens my black paint
 
If you have black paint, try the Collinite 915. I bought some after using Collinite 885 Fleetwax (a marine wax that is the twin to 476S) and had very good success as a durable, good looking wax for over the winter on daily drivers here in the upper Midwest. I recently had the privilege to detail a black Mercedes-Benz 550SL for a discriminating owner and applied 915 as the LSP (Last Step Product). He said the paint never looked better, but it was already in pristine shape when I worked on it. That said, 915 makes dark colored cars look, well, glossy and brilliant. There really are no sufficient descriptive words to do it justice. You need to see it for yourself. Four things it like about it:
1) It's not expensive as far as premium waxes go
2) It's wax-on-wax-off method to apply (at least that's what I do)
3) Has a great carnauba shine that also lasts at least three months or more
4) The water beading ability allows you to blow off the water with a leaf blower (like the Toro you mentioned) easily during maintenance washes, plus the beading is an indicator of the "condition" of the presence of the wax. If it doesn't bead like it used to, time to re-apply 915.

I am NOT a proponent of layered/multiple coats of Collinite for better looks or protection, BUT that's because I choose not to do that. If you want, you can try it and let us know how it looks. I am sure that those who do layer premium carnauba waxes will tell you, "the more, the better." (within reason) Collinite's hybrid waxes (845, 476S, & 915) just seem to do the job with one coat.

Gotta chuckle that the Collinite rep said you can't go wrong with either one :D

Overall, that sounds similar to what they told me. When I talked with them, they said that *they* use 476S on their own cars and that's what I went with.

The higher carnauba content of the 915 might make it a better appearance-related choice on black though.

Just off the phone with them...again...
I ordered the 476. Hands down they said the durability of the 476 was better than the 915. They said the 915 will offer a warmer look based on it having 25% more carnauba than 476 but they said if the car is brand new and already has the Wolfgang Deep Gloss sealant on it that the difference of 915 vs 476 may not been seen and then it just boils down to the 476 being more durable. So 476 it is. I will definitely report back on how the 476 works out.

Ah, sounds like they still subtly nudge customers towards the 476S.

Just remember that their description is designed to make you buy it ;)

It's the second-most durable/protective paste I have.

I have always been a fan of marketing words....
So im gonna take a stab and guess fk1000 as your #1. :)
You have me adding this to my next order to try on wheels alone.
 
512detail- Heh heh, yeah, the FK1000P outlasts/outperforms the 476S for me, hence my strong opinions about it. I mean, yeah it looks great on certain colors, but I'm all about functionality these days. While I will readily admit that it would *NOT* be my choice for a lot of paints/vehicles, for light-to-medium colored drivers I don't think there's another conventional LSP that can compare.

What I still find amusing is that I was *so* certain that the products I had been using were the last word in functional LSPs! I bet my sample tin of FK1000P sat on the shelf for at least three years before I ever tried it, and even when I finally did use it I wasn't expecting much (especially when my sample was so dried-out and hard to use...hard like a rock). Can't recall ever doing such a complete 180 in my opinion of a detailing product.

Credit where credit is due- Had (the currently MIA) Ron Ketcham not told me the story behind it (which did pique my curiosity) and just *insisted* that it'd outperform, it might've sat there unused forever. Ron wasn't a huge fan of *every* FK product, but with all his years there he did know a lot about them and he sure had high regard for FK1000P and FK425.

This one was "warmer". Had a better "glow".
