Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer - As drying aid

Ronkh

Wax Waster
Decided to try Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer today. As a drying aid.

Car was left VERY wet, after a quick wash with Poorboys World Slick Suds.

As I said, I left the car WET. Didn't sheet, didn't blow dry first. I wanted to see how it performed and if it left streaks/spots etc. I used a dry me a river WW towel. One towel only !!! Did the windows first to get towel wet, then on to the paint.

I love Sonax bottles and sprayers, they're great. It sprayed a nice area and didn't over spray.. Smells great too.

End result

Final thoughts.

Is it good - YEP
Easy to use - YEP
Leave a nice shine - YEP

Not sure how slick it is, since it's so humid, can't get a good feel.

Would I buy again = YEP !!!!! (so far after first test)

Florida tested ,Ron Approved... B)

Good job! I am thinking of trying the the new mothers waterless wash and wax out as a drying aid. I am sure it would do one heck of a great job.

Mothers Waterless Wash & Wax

I am starting to think any good detail or spray wax can be used as a drying aid. Just some are going to be better at it.

My drying aid regimen is ONRWW at QD dilution and a few spritzes of OCW on top. Wipes off super easily then lightly buff and I get a streak free finish with the added benefit of OCW all in one step. Curious to try the Sonax but at $17 a bottle, I'd blow through a bottle in 1-2 washes.

If you'd blow through a bottle in one to two washes, you waste more stuff than I do,,,, :wow:

Having used onrww and aquawax, this stuff is on a different level.

I haven't seen beading yet, but probably will later today.

Thanks for the review Ron! SONAX is definitely one of those brands I've never been disappointed with one of their products. Top notch German car care products.

The stuff is good and the beading is sick.

It's not super slick, but not grabby either. You only use a little bit - so the bottle lasts forever.

It's really spray sealant more than a QD.

In the winter I'm using either this or HydroMax.

Was sorta wondering about the slickness.

Doesn't feel slick really. That surprised me.

Haha what's this beading thing everyone talks about? I used to know of this thing called rain but apparently that's not something that happens here anymore.

Did you spray a panel at a time or spray it all and then dry it? Looks good btw. I am almost in need of a new drying aid so I will add this to the next order list

I'd show ya a picture of 'rain" but it's too wet.

Think we just got an inch in the last hour. Thank goodness, it started just as I brought food in frombbq.

Nice review Ron. I like AquaWax a lot as a drying aid and have never really been disappointed in the result, good value in my mind. If the Sonax scores that well in your estimation, it's probably worth considering.

Used aquawax for many years. Love the stuff.

But doesn't work well with UK.
