  • I current favorite is the maintenance wash. It is what I get to do most often on my own vehicles and offer the most opportunity to try new & different products.

Why do you pick the Autopia Store over other stores for your detailing supplies?

  • I like the selection available as well as earning rewards points.

Do you prefer a Dual Action Polisher or Rotary Polisher?

  • I prefer D/A but I have been using Rotary more and more. It depends on the tool required for the job.

What is your favorite type of Autopia Sale? (Coupon Code, Products Marked Down, Free Shipping, Free Gifts, etc)

  • Based on what you currently offer I prefer discount code & free shipping. But would really want everyday lower prices overall and then free or flat rate shipping.

Would you enjoy seeing more reviews by detailers?

  • Yes. I would even like to do more reviews.

What kind of reviews do you enjoy the most? (Individual product reviews, comparison reviews, long term reviews, etc)

  • I like doing the quick videos because it is quicker and easier to get info out.
  • I also like the long term reviews showing if products live up their claims.

Yes, yes and yes. For me, the most important factor is an unbiased review - if the product is lacking in some regard I'd like to know about it. It's important that Autopia stays open to reviews that respectfully points out a product's shortcomings.

Personally I enjoy the process of writing up reviews, sharing my thoughts/ observations, helping answer questions about the product, posting follow-up impressions later on (when I remember to).

  • What is your favorite brand we carry? I'm not brand centric, what I like is the verity of brands carried.

  • Is there a brand we do not currently carry, that you would like to see us carry in the future? Sure, Garry Dean's products, specifically Infinite Use Detail Juice.

  • If you could change one thing about Autopia, what would it be? It would be nice to have a way to vote up or down reviews based on; content, accuracy, and usefulness. Rather than haveing to read many reviews about the same product until the points I'd like to see covered are covered by someone's more depth review.

  • When detailing, which step in the process do you enjoy the most? The result DUH (final inspection, and photography of the completed detail), but if we are talking about actual detailing work, it's gotta be DA correction!

  • Why do you pick the Autopia Store over other stores for your detailing supplies? Honestly because the Canadian counterparts are out of stock or the products I want are not carried. I like to support the forum when possible.

  • Do you prefer a Dual Action Polisher or Rotary Polisher? Dual Action

  • What is your favorite type of Autopia Sale? My favorite type of sale is one I can take advantage of. All to often I see sales that don't include specific products (polishers) or they take place when I'm not ready to take a 2hour drive to pick up products States side. It would be nice to have a sale offer that's good for 3-6 months as a one time use for previous shoppers only, that's good for all products sold (with free shipping over $100-$150 of course). I.E. E-mail users a user specific code that's good for only one use (so it's not abused) that expires in 3-6 months to give people a chance to take advantage if it.

  • Would you enjoy seeing more reviews by detailers? Yes! The more reviews the better. I think we all love the before and after pictures quality professional and enthusiast detailers bring to the table.

  • What kind of reviews do you enjoy the most? I honestly prefer those in-depth long-term comparative reviews, that show how one product is better or different from another. Comparison reviews are good too but sometimes lack the long term follow up that's required for a true comparison. New product reviews are also a must, but old product reviews that are done and done again start to overwhelm the average readers/lurkers (I assume) because one review says one thing and another might say something different and cause confusion. Also, sometimes the quality reviews get bumped down due to many subsequent enthusiasts reviews. I've learned to pick and choose who's reviews I read based on what I want to learn about the product from a review and different reviews style of writing.

- Grow its presence at car shows and other automotive events
- Perhaps carry other accessories such as G2 brake caliper paint


When detailing, which step in the process do you enjoy the most?
- Paint correction and applying paint coating. I can polish for hours non-stop to seek that perfect shine. The paint coating is the last step so I really enjoy finishing it off knowing my work will be protected for months/years


Why do you pick the Autopia Store over other stores for your detailing supplies?
- Canadian shopper here. I tend to jump on sales and bundle them when I do pickup at the border. Autopia having competitive prices would be my main reason.

- Prefer DA (no experience with rotary)

Yes, Americana. COMPLETELY slipped my mind...no excuse other than I haven't tried any of it.
 
1) helping others. mostly just killing free time.

2) we use so many brands that can be purchased in so many online outlets, I don't have one that stands out for Autopia.

3)Definitely Car Brite, if you can keep the prices anywhere near local distributor pricing. I'm not sure Valvoline would even let this happened, though.

4) cant really think of any good changes. its a good forum, and a good store. agree with the above, weekly specials.

5) washing

6) its either Autopia or the Geek. depending on which has the best sale at the time.

7) both machines have completely different uses at completely different times, but I like a rotary for the before/after effect it has. (Dewalt, specifically)

8) % off. we almost always buy enough to get the free shipping anyway.

9) this is the best question of all. you should, and MUST, give some incentive for people to give good pictured reviews of products. you WILL get more attention, and you WILL sell more products. then put those products on a 20% sale for a few weeks = $$$.

10) definitely comparison reviews.
 
One thing I would like to add to my sales answer is doing what AGO does and offer the $100 gift certificate for $80 so they can be used on future purchases.

In all honesty, the main thing that drove me to join Autopia when I did, is that it was a smaller community with an active Pro on the forum. I know we probably can't bring Todd back, but someone like him could greatly improve the forum experience. His product comparisons were awesome and I always felt like he was trying to teach all of us something in his posts/replies. I can't tell you how much I learned from reading his posts, but he truly made me a better detailer from the experience with him here.
