This lovely yellow prancing horse dropped by the detailien HIVE for some much needed attention to its interior.

Things looking good on the outside.

But another story on the inside where all of the soft touch coatings have started to degrade, melt and is sticky to the touch. Especially so in our hot, humid Malaysian weather.

Can anything be done or will the owner have to spend thousands for it to be replaced or resprayed.

Spoiled by the soft touch coatings on the plastic bits.

Thanks for looking.

More to come.

Looks good but what was the process. What products is you use and how'd you use them? Almost looks like they were replaced. Great job.

Wow...if that was all done with Optimum Power Clean I am blown away....Did you end up replacing a majority of the plastics??

I think I can solve the mystery, he removed the rubber coating with optimum power clean, if you look at my Logitech remote battery door its rubber coating is coming off making it look like deep scratches, I just sprayed Meguiars APC and removed the coating to reveal clean plastic underneath.

Seech let me know if you want me to remove these photos as to not clutter your thread

i was wondering the same, did plastics get replaced or what? on most of those, the damage looks like heavy scuffs/scratches on the plastic...

No Magic....the Soft Touch Coating was removed

Make sure you discuss it with the Owner, before you undertake something like this

Thanks. Optimum Power Clean. It safely removes the soft touch coating on top of the plastic.

NONE of the plastic bits were replaced.

Whoa! Is Optimum Power Clean the kryptonite to the infamous Ferrari soft plastic interior??

Not only on Ferraris.... Check out this Merc S-Class with the same issues:

Hi, thanks for sharing. I tried other APC's but found that OPC still worked the best. Get some and try it out. Would be interesting to get your feedback.

The scuffs/scratches were actually on the soft touch coating and not the plastic beneath.

Yes. The owner should be informed but frankly the soft touch coating was sticky and looking horrible. Have yet to find an owner who objected to it.
