The time has come, I will now be presenting the mystery products that I used in: NEW Griots Garage BOSS G21 REVIEW

Many people have guessed, lets see if they're right! Drum roll please:



The AAT RUBBING COMPOUND and the AAT FINISHING POLISH!
These polishes will be on the Autopia Store in a couple weeks, so keep a look out in the WHAT'S NEW page and you'll find them there.

These products worked great with the new Griots Garage BOSS G21 and the Groits Garage BOSS 6.5 inch pads. They were easy to use, a little product will spread very far, wiped right off after using them, created no dust, and have amazing correction abilities.

Here is the initial condition of the paint:

I used the Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay to remove all the contaminates from the paint:

I started with the AAT Rubbing Compound. It cut very well, I did 4-5 section passes and the paint looked great! There were still some minor scratches that needed to be taken out and the AAT Finishing polish removed those with ease.

Off of 3D's website they state that AAT stands for Adaptive Abrasive Technology which is a multi-surface leveling agent that accelerates and enhances performance.

I've used other 3d polishes and compounds and I have found that the AAT Products do cut a little faster with the same great results!

Question: what makes a product a "Rubbing" Compound? Is there something different about it vs M105 for example? Or are all compounds "rubbing" compounds?

There isn't any difference between a "Rubbing" Compound and a regular Compound, it's just what they named the compound. :bigups
 
DO you need to use any kind of sealer after these 2 products or these 2 alone and you are pretty well protected against the elements?

For a vehicle with paint kept in good condition, you still recommend using the compound too? Im guessing it would not hurt as it will be cleaning the paint of all its crap lol

Because in the old days we used to "hand rub" them.....

Then they invented fire, and after that electricity, then all them new fangled tools.

Yes you do need to use a sealant or wax after, I used HD Nitro seal you can see it in this review: 3D HD Nitro Seal Review

Also if the paint is in good condition I would start with the finishing polish and if that doesn't give you the results you are looking for (clear paint and no swirls/scractches) move on to the compound to get your desired look.
