Help! Sweaty hands ruin steering wheel leather!

My hands sweat quite a bit and it ruins the leather of my steering wheels. I own '05 Subaru STi and just bought a VW GTI. The Subaru wheel is shot and i would like to keep the GTI steering wheel looking nice.

Any tips or products that may prevent this from happening on my new car?

thanks!

I'd clean it once a month with a vent brush and leather cleaner. I don't put anything on my wheel dressing/protectant wise...just doesn't seem safe to me.

Never used it myself, so take it with a grain of salt, but what about something like Leather Dr.'s protectant in the "draggy feel" variety? It's supposed to protect the leather while increasing grip... might be good for something like a steering wheel and make it easier to clean. I've used the "buttery feel" one, which is good for seats but too slippery for a wheel of course.

I've been using Connolly Hide Food Leather Conditioner on my BMW steering wheel. Keeps the leather in great condition.

Driving gloves !

To the OP: If your hands are that sweaty, ^^^this is a good suggestion.

I would also advise using a good leather cleaner/protectant. I'm currently using Leather Masters Protection Cream on my steering wheel. It leaves a nice matte finish and feel
