Dreaming of fall.......

Welp, we've had a mild weekend with morning temps in the mid 70's, which is such a tease, because once May starts, we're locked into 6 months of hot. Come mid June through October, the humidity monster will make it intolerable in the garage. Yep, in the same vane of the Dreaming of spring..... thread, this old fart Floridian is dreaming of Fall. Late Fall.

Winter in (this part of) Florida is blissful. Polishing paint with a sweater on. No THAT seems very far away.

I don't want to hear fall or winter for a very very long time.

I sure do, it has already hit 101 and going up. I was in the garage adding another coat of Collinite with sweat dripping everywhere. Of course as the saying goes "It's a dry heat".

JUST STOP!!!!!!!B) We are finally getting some sun and warmth here. Actually washed my cars in shorts and t-shirt this morning. I don't even want to THINK of fall...'cause that means we will be freezing our butts off again. Besides, us northerners need our turn to brag about nice weather and listen to you guys complain!;)

Exactly

I like it cool, it's bad enough here in jersey can't imagine Florida unless there is air conditioning.

Funny thread :lol2:

This week has been great here

Last week was a prelude to summer 90+/humid uhhhhh

Now it's headed for hot and humid again, but that's what they invented ac for.

Things all Floridians know:
1. Publix
2. Category 1 or 2, head for the tiki bar
3. Stone crabs
4. Love Bugs
5. Bug Squash
6. How to find a shady parking spot
7. Publix Subs
8. The phone number for the AC repair
9. In summer if you want to do something outside, it gets done before 9am, or after 9pm
10. The guy next to you in the car didn't fart, it's a Florida well burping.
11. What a snowbird is
12. When snowbird season is
13. The most dangerous places in FL are the right lane next to a Walmart, and the right lane of any restaurant during "early bird special time"
14. The speed limits are optional
15. That you don't need an umbrella, the rain will stop in 10 minutes.
16. That black thing on the side of the highway is not necessarily a blown tire

Easy for you to say. In the winter you aren't ONR washing vehicles in a cramped garage with a salamander heater on while it's 18 degrees outside.

No we don't. But we do ONR washing of vehicles in a cramped garage with salamanders running around while it's 90+ degrees outside. :D

Stone crabs? Is that the bada$$ version of a Fla STD?B)

Only in the villages........................

But for the rest of FL, it's special crab claws that are INCREDIBLE, and will slice up your hands like shredded wheat if not careful.

Not sure what you guys in the north pay for heat, but a July or August electric bill down here can run me over $400. That really eats into my wax and QD funds.

Electric bills are a killer whether U are running A/C or heat. Lucky for my area we have natural gas for heating so my ave bill I the coldest months was under $200.00. Much better than those that are stuck using propane/heating oil or electric.
