Getting my car back from the Panel Shop after getting the drivers door skin replaced and Re-sprayed along with the rest of that side of the car, I’m told to blend in the metallic paint with the other panels.

The car is due for a detail but I know new paint needs time to breath before polish and wax is applied to seal the paint.

How long do you guys recommend before ~

    1.Dawn Wash

    2.Mothers Clay

    3.Dawn Wash

3.Meg No.7 Polish (should leave this out on the newly painted panels?)

    4.Meg No.26 Wax

Or can anybody recommend a change in product use or order?.

I would prefer the use of polymer sealant but Klasse and Meg No.20 is not available in Melbourne Australia.

    Cheers

Agreed, at least 30 days. Talk to the painter, it could even be as much as 90 days.

In the meantime, I believe you can provide some protection using 3M IHG.

I just had some minor paint repairs on the drivers door and hood of my M5 so the clear coat for the entire panels was redone. The person who did the work is the best I have ever seen, he even matches the orange peel to the other panels! He recommended that I wait 30 days before I use any waxes or sealants on the resprayed surfaces. He said this is to insure that all the solvents have had a chance to escape.

Black Infinity G35. Pretty tore up, but no match for DA Pads and M105! LOL! Finished off with Meguiar?s Finishing Wax.

    WOW!!!
What a difference. That was night and day. That Infinity was an absolute mess, and it looks like the new system took care of it with no problem.

    Great job Nick!
