    best one step result

just picked up a job to do a pontiac solstice, gun metal gray. she doesn`t want the full monty but we agreed to do a one step and a blackfire seal. which product of these i have would give me the best results in your opinion with a white pad on a 6" griots random orbital: m205, menzerna micro finish or b/f total polish and seal.

M205 will have the most cut. But are you talking about Menzerna SF4500 micro polish?

Either way why not split the hood in 3 and test spot them and see which leaves the best results.

i would go with m205 if the finish is a little beat up and bfwd. if the finish isn`t too bad, you can save time going with bftpns and follow up with some bfcs.(but not quite as durable as bfwd.)

How are you selling a one step without even knowing what the products you have do?

    Wouldn`t a polish and a seal be 2 steps?

M205 would give the most cut
Menzerna MF is more of a jeweling polish and won`t cut as much as 205 but will produce a nice gloss and shine
BFTPNS is an AIO with decent polishing ability but lacking in durability

So it depends on how bad the paint is, but IMO 205 topped with blackfire would be the way to go if you need the most cut. 205 contains a ton of polishing oils so an IPA wipe down or dawn wash after polishing will remove these oils ensuring proper bonding of Blackfire seal.

For my one steps my favs are Megs D151 and DG 501.

How many hours did you quote?

Example: If 3 hrs was quoted, then you have to go with TPnS. mAs long as customer understands your plan and expectations your good to go.

thanks meticulous, best answer yet... one step being no compounding just polishing. since the car has had nothing but swirl-o matic washes it probably needs more correction then brightening.

i told her 3-4 hrs since it is a smaller car. just did my daughters altima and it took me 5 hrs with my makita and bftpns. came out beautiful but i was pretty sore afterwards. i admire you guys that do this for a living, its hard work.

If the car is badly swirled none of those are going to do much correction so I would go with TPnS to save time. Straight to BFWD without needing to do a wipe down. No sense spending extra time to still not achieve great results.
