I would say right around the 20-25hr mark. I didn`t sand the bumpers or the rockers and the top of the deck lid I sanded and buffed as a test spot last week so that was done. Roof/hood/sides.

Thanks bud. Its really not that bad as long as you take your time with it.

I am assuming I will have to touch up a few areas that might have some sanding marks even though I was using a halogen and IPA to check my work as I went along.

Fantastic job! Thanks for sharing it with us. You really knocked it out of the park. Generally speaking, was it easier or harder than you thought going in?

Thanks for the compliment. This wasn`t my first rodeo with blocking out one of my rides. But it was my first time finishing with the Megs 2500. And that took out a bunch of steps for me as far as getting it polish/DA ready.

In the past I would finish with 2000 then use a wool pad on my rotary with the 8in pads, then a yellow pad with the same compound, then switch to the DA/orange pad with compound just to refine it down enough so that I knew there would be no issues when it came time to polish.

So by switching to finishing with the 2500, using the FG400 and going to a smaller 5.5 CCS pad on my rotary it took one compounding step to finish it down nice enough for polishing. Again this may or may not work for everyone but it work for me. So in the end, yes this time it was much easier.
