I`m trying to sell my CZ-83 or trade it for a revolver and have gotten a lot of offers. Right now I have an offer for a Taurus ultralite. Anyone have any experience with these?

Some are good, some are bad. Customer service is known to suck for the most part. There are plenty of happy Taurus owners out there, but I`d personally stick with a company that has more consistent QC and better customer service. I know plenty of people who own or have owned them and had nothing but problems. Could be fine for a range toy, but I`d never carry one.

Yeah, I`m hearing mixed reviews on them right now on the local gun forums. Customer service is key when owning a gun in my opinion. I have a KelTec and am a big fan of their guns and customer service. As a matter of fact I just emailed them a couple days ago to see about getting a metal magazine release button and they don`t even ask questions. They just send it no charge.

I have had my Millenium Edition 9mm for 3 years and no issues. It is my daily CCW. Just my .02 cents worth.

BobD- No first-hand experience with Taurus revolvers other than a little handling/dry-firing, but I`d go with a (no internal lock model) S&W.

Ultralight huh? I`d sure put some rounds through any lightweight before you hand over your money.

Is this for carrying or for nightstand duty?

I have a 24/7 Pro .40 I use for home defense. About 700 rounds and not 1 FTF. I`d but it again with out pause.

Thanks guys. I`m not 100% on what offer I`d go with yet if any of them.

This would be for nightstand use.

I keep the CZ by the bed now but I`d prefer a revolver I think. For carry I always have my KelTec on me.

For something you and your wife would both be OK with, I`d go with a 4" S&W K or L frame loaded with reasonably hot .38 specials (*NOT* magnums).

Something like a well-used Model 10 would be cheap cheap cheap and would work super for this.

Accumulatorette`s favorite wheelgun is her 4" 686. I think she has .38 special +P Glasers in it. She did fit smaller stocks to it (my best set of Bear Hugs :hmph: ).

Thanks guys. Looks like the Taraus deal fell through anyway. We have a new gun shop in town and I`m going to see how bad they will rape me on my CZ and then `m going to try the shop I usually deal with.

I like Springfield`s too but I don`t think they make revolvers.

What kind of CZ do you have, and how much are you looking to get for it?

*Edit - nevermind, opened my eyes and saw the original post

Been looking for a CZ-75 for awhile now. Oh well, it can wait.

Not to derail the thread, but ever seen a Smith 629PC? They are SO sweet....8 shot .357 Magnum. Definitely #1 on my list of revolvers I "need". :p

Though I`m not a big fan of the .357 round, yeah, the 8-shot setup is nice and guys like me can always just run .38s in those
