    awe....that`s good then.

It`s always a crap shoot either way regardless of the readings, unless you`ve talked to the painter of course. Do you have any history on the paint? Has it been sanded before?

I have bits and pieces of info on the paint. I do know he put 3 thick coats of clear on because he knew I was going to be wetsanding it out. Beyond that I`m not sure. But the readings on the roof and c-pillars make me wonder about that thick coat...

Yeah, every painter is different and 3 coats to one guy may be more like 2 for another.

I was able to safely wet sand my girls car, which had been repainted and some new panels were installed and my readings were in the low 4-5 mil range. You`ll likely be fine sanding it lightly but I`m not sure I`d want to risk it on a car like your working on though unless the owner is well aware of the risks involved, and that you will not be held responsible if you go through. Let him know what your seeing and see what he wants to do.

Yeah i`ve been sending him pics showing him the low spots and let him know there isn`t enough to work with in some of those areas.
