Generally, the clear will yellow with time and heat. I suggest a silver paint for the rotors. Be sure to tape off the wearing surfaces

Not really much protection needed. But the real advantage, besides much improved looks, is that it`s far easier to maintain the cleanliness of a smooth painted surface. :up

I`m going to decide what to do tonight. In the end it`s a minor detail and it`s going to cost me 3-4 times as much to order the clear and have it shipped then to just buy some high temp paint locally.

Dean did you put clear over you paint?

No, I didn`t but I think that it should work fine. I`m thinking about spraying a coat of hi-temp clear over the front brake calipers on my 1997 Supra. The OEM clear coat is chipping, but the dark basecoat and "Supra" lettering is intact.

Well i just ordered 2 cans of this stuff. I did a search on it and read that this paint is used on the space shuttles, thought it was neat. Now i`m going to have to paint my calipers.

Tested it out on one of my rotors and it worked great. Here are a few pics. Cut my templet a little larger due to the fact that the brake pad does not sweep then entire rotor surface. What paint that is not needed will be removed by the pads when braking.
