I`ve been meaning to pick up some #0000 steel wool, but I wanted to see where you guys get yours. Any place online you`d recommend?
What about locally? Would a Harley Davidson shop have it?
Any and all input would be appreciated!!
Thanks.

I think I found mine at Home Depot.
Home Depot and Lowe`s carry it (typically with the paints and stains). Rick at ADS carries it also (I think).
Ridding the world of swirls, one car at a time!
Many thanks, guys. I want to pick some up just for cleaning exhaust pipes. Any particular method to using it?
Go with the grain of the tips front to back not around!
Wally World carrys it
I thought that was the case, and was going to ask specifically about that. Thanks for reading my mind.

Oh, and wait till you try it on hammered tips, works great.
Thanks, Kevin. I really appreciate your input on this.
Also, thanks to everyone who responded. I guess I`ll be making a trip to Wal-Mart and/or Home Depot.

If you have any natural finish wood furniture in your house, it`s wonderful for hand-rubbing in oil Great for cleaning stubborn sticker residue on glass, too.

My stable includes a 2019 Toyota Avalon and a 2016 BMW 550i.
Joel,
The DeLorean John (Eliot Ness) and I detailed a couple months ago most certainly had a grain to it. I was told by David B and I believe Jimmy Buffit to go with that grain when washing/polishing. If John takes a look at this thread, maybe he`ll post one of the up close photos of the DeLorean.

Stainless steel does have a grain. If you look at any appliance it normally goes from top to bottom, and the same for exhaust tips.
If you go side to side with steel wool or any abrasive you will leave very noticeable scratches.
