Big thanks to the guys who recommended chemical guys stuff. I’m a reformed NXT user who tried Poorboys thanks to the other forum, which seems to talk about them all the time. Chemical guys is the same quality as Poorboys if not better. Their compounds seem to have oil or something which makes them easier to use than DACP IMO. Anyhow, I don’t prefer CG detailing sprays because nuba sprays don’t do much for me, can anyone recommend a detailing spray that leaves protection and is thin and easy to use?

How much protection are you looking for?

Clearkote`s Quikshine if you want a week or two, Optimum Car Wax if you want real wax durability.

:nixweiss I`ve never really had any problems with DACP, you just have to make sure you work it long enough or it is tough to buff off. Maybe because I`ve been using it since it first came out I`ve gotten the hang of it. It isn`t as `first time use` friendly as #80 or Optimum Polish is though.

    I must agree with SauerwurstknackkrautmitDrkartoffel!

FK1 #425 is the mother of all QDs, and the FX-100 is a boosted spray sealant.

Or, when you`re drying your car, try Mothers FX Spray Wax, Eagle One Wax As U Dry, or the new Eagle One Nano Spray Wax.

Chem guys has a synthetic/non-nuba detail sprays that work nice.

Also, Fk #425 is pretty sweet.

I just got a product called Fast Finish from ValuGuard to try (autoint, aka Ron Ketchum). Seems to be a QD type product that contains some wax. You can spray it on wet cars and dry normally, or use it on dry paint. Seems thicker than most QDs and it is a very white liquid. Nice spray, shoots out a fine mist.

I`ll be trying it out over the next week, maybe something else that would fit the thread starter`s needs.

People, we aren`t going deaf are we? Thanks cg2 for the advice, and is 425 and quickshine a non-nuba product? Any other thin poly/acrylic type sprays setting the detailing world on fire?

Quikshine is carnauba, silicone, and teflon free according to Clearkote.

A somewhat pricey option that works well on most sealants is Zaino Z8 Sealant Spray. $20 a bottle but it is enough for 15-20 applications.

Is that quickshine thin and leaves protection, how many coats do you get from a bottle of this stuff? I want to try Zaino`s new stuff too but am waiting until I run out of everything I got in the wax department.

    FK 425 is synthetic/polymer.

Mother`s FX Spray Wax is also synthetic and very good IMO. It leaves a quite a bit of protection and a very slick surface. It`s thin and super easy to use (just don`t use a lot of it or it will load up the towel and streak). Also according to lawrencea the new EO Nano Spray is similar (but carnauba look), and EO says it should last a month (which means 2-3 weeks in human time ).
