I had Hawk HPS pads on my Porsche 944. They stopped great and were quiet, but the dust they produced was sort of orange-brown that stuck to my wheels.
I put a set of Akebono ProACT Ceraminc pads on the front of my 530 and I`m really pleased with them. IMHO, they work as well as Hawk pads and the dust is light gray and easy to remove.
I can`t comment on track use for either of the pads. Hawk HPS are good pads, but I`m sticking to ceramic pads from now on.
