    I think it looks hilariously useless..I will bet at least 70% of the dirt doesnt go through those tiny holes and just keeps getting sloshed back up into your wash sponge. Get some aquarium Filter pads in the bulk size and stick it under a grit guard and I bet that is 100000x more effective then this terrible looking idea.

    i agree as i also have this original grit guard but feel the new grit guard works better. may have to consider the two grit guard trick though.
