    Sunday`s Details - v. Disastrous Dakota and FMJ`d Teg

First up, a 2003 Dodge Dakota.

This thing is a work truck as you can see. Scratched, gashed, tarred, dirty, etc. It also had many spots where the owner used some rubbing compound and marred the nuts out of the paint.

Anyways, they didn`t want full swirl removal and clay, but since it was that bad, I did a pretty stiff polishing regimen at no extra cost. It needed it.

    For the interior I did,

-Oxy Mix on seats and carpets
-Woolite mix for vinyl, rubber, plastic
-AA to protect vinyl, rubber, plastic
-Simple green to clean rubber mats, AA to protect
-Gliptone Glass cleaner on glass and clear plastic

    For the exterior:

    -Mother`s Gold Wash
-Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover on all lower panels
    -Rain-X on glass
-Wheel Wash on wheels and in wells with soft brush
-Simple Green on tires with stiff brush for the whole tire and #0000 Steel Wool to make the white letters white again

-#80 with LC Polishing Pad via Rotary @ 1500 rpm
    -EX-P by hand

-BnB x 3 on tires and plastic trim
    -AA in wells

    Now to the Teg...

It was sad to strip off EX x 3 and Natty`s x 3, but I wanted to try Menzerna .

Started off with PO-85RD polish (ceramiclear polish) which is a 1.5 out of 5 in cut and 5 out of 5 in gloss. This stuff is VERY impressive. I think I have the softest paint out there (repaint) or close to and I always get buffer burns, which I end up having to break out the finishing pad and a very light polish for. Anyways, this stuff cut up my light marring and polished to an amazingly high gloss shine with no hologramming while using the polishing pad. The shine was very very intense.

Once I was done, I applied FMJ by foam applicator and my right hand. Very thin coats, let sit for a few minutes and it came off with no effort. Very slick surface that left for a mirror like shine. I will have to look at the surface more closely tomorrow as today I finished and hit the road back to CT for college (was home in NY detailing).

Polished and Protected the wheels with the same products as the paint.

    Enjoy!

Just Wheel Wash (www.topoftheline.com) on the wheels...Nothing else.

Question Re: Sunday`s Details - v. Disastrous Dakota and FMJ`d Teg

What type of dressing did you use on the tires in the above pic? The one of the front right rim.

Nice clean up on the Dakota. Did you use clay on the Dakota? Does TOL wheel wash have an acidic or Basic pH?

    Yeah the integra looks great.

    Have you AIO`d today?

Andrew: Poorboy`s Bold N Bright with an Eagle One Tire Swipe

    zesty: Thanks

Eric: No clay...Client didn`t want more than just a polish and seal for paint. TOL`s Wheel Wash states it`s slightly alkaline base...so more basic.

Your work just keeps getting better!

I`m using BNB with the EO swipe too. I have started pulling the car backward or forward a bit to prevent getting any BNB on the asphalt when doing the portion of the tire that is in contact with the ground. What do you do with the bottom of the tire?

    Thank you

mtodde: For customers, I usually spray the bottom of the tire. For my personal cars, I will pull the vehicle forward as well.

Question Re: Sunday`s Details - v. Disastrous Dakota and FMJ`d Teg

An eagle one wipe is just the applicator right, not the eagle one swipe with dressing on it from the dispenser?
