This one is that same color as the caddy I did yesterday. THis wasn`t in such bad shape, typical for your average owner`s daily driver.
After using #2 Fine Cut on the bumpers of the caddy, I wanted to give it a try on the Chrysler.
I was going to use it on a polishing pad, but as fate (and poor planning) would have it, all I had with me were cutting and finishing pads. Sooo, onward. The car is a reddish/maroon and had it`s share of swirls, washing scratches and what looked like minor buffer holograms (you can see them in the before shot of the hood).
Not being familiar with the #2, I used it sparingly. I set the PC to 6 and tread lightly. I buffed until the #2 powdered. Apparently, I used it so sparingly that it was very mild on the finish. When I had gone over the entire car with the #2, I wiped off the powder with a terry towel. I saw that a good 90% of the defects were gone and the color was much clearer and deeper.
Since this was just a `basic` polish & wax, I finished off with NXT. I used a finishing pad on 4, then dressed the trim while the NXT set up. After removing the haze with a MF towel, the color was dramatically deeper. There was still some minor scratches and swirls, but nothing like what it was before I started.
I would have liked to have gone over the car a while longer to get rid of the rest of the marks, but it was overcast & windy and it looked like it was going to rain at any minute so this was a semi-rush job.
