    Cleaning "Ultra-Suede"...

A friend just bought a 2004 Chevy Malibu with light tan Leather/Ultra-Suede interior. The Ultra-Suede is in the center of the seats with leather surrounds.

Leather... easy to clean. The suede, however is a different animal.

It is badly stained and needs some heavy cleaning. I don`t have pictures yet, but it looks like coffee, soda, dirt. No apparent grease.

Question is: What do I use to clean up the light colored Ultra-Suede?

Ultra-Suede is actually a manufactured fabric that looks like suede.

Because it`s not leather based, I suspect the cleaning process is different....

This picture is Ultra-suede. This is not the actual car I`m cleaning... picture these seats with lots of coffee stains.

Thanks guys... I didn`t know it was called "Alcantara".

I`m fairly sure the stains are water-based...

It seems like, from the link, that warm water and a soft white towel is the preferred method. Followed by air drying, then brushing lightly with a lint brush.

A major emphasis seems to be "GENTLY". Evidently it can`t take the hard scrubbing.
