not sure how well the pictures show the problem but I am using menzerna intensive polish, and even tried a cutting pad but no deal. It`s a black lexus and I am thinking they are there to stay. It is on my trunk.

I think you need to get Ashley to help you with the pictures.

I`ll save him the 5 bucks

Glenn what speed are you running the PC at.
I haven`t tried IP but I found when using other products that I wasn`t working the product long enough.
Maybe if you could supply a little more info it might help.

After completing all the passes with IP you should follw up with FPll, PO85RD, or SSR1 to get that hazing to diminish using a polishing pad and PC at speed 5. That is what I would/have do/done.

I can`t really tell if they are deep spider webs or hazing so.

Maybe a good heavy cut compound would help you more then a polish.

    :chair: You`re joking, right?

A heavy cut compound would only make hazing/marring worse. As a couple others mentioned, he needs to go to a LESS abrasive polish to get clarity back after removing the heavy scratching/swirls with IP.

the pictures arent showing the problem to good .I have like 1inch spots that wont come out. I am not worrying about the hazing as I will use fpII afterwords, but its these spots that maybe etched in for life I dunno. The top pic middle right shows one pretty good,.I was running at 6 but maybe not long enough I dunno.

Oh, its etched into the paint. I see it now. I remember someone asked about etching before, you might just have to let it be if its really bad.

Glen is what I circled what you are talking about?

If it is, that looks like the paint may have been etched from a bird dropping or somthing.

Sorry? That is what i would do. compound it down smooth, then polish it.

If he`s using a cutting pad and and intensive polish and its not helping, then he should step it up. Thats my opinion, i`m not stating its the only way. Like i said in my first post i`m not sure what i`m seeing. it looks like some heavy spider webbing or maybe hazing i`m not sure.

Re: Need Help With Paint Issues

I would step up to the powergloss compound from menzerna. Just make sure to let the product work in and break down to a fine polish. This will making the lite swirls easier to remove. I would also sugest investing in a ProGaugeII paint thickness gauge. They run about $70 but are invaluable when it comes to compounding and knowing how much paint you have left.

Re: Need Help With Paint Issues

Having the etching pointed out does make a difference. Menzerna PG or SSR 3 with a polishing pad with PC on speed 5 or 6 will make a difference.
