This car was supposed to be a Modesta Coating. We saw the car about 3 months ago and was no where near this bad! I don’t know what happened but as you can see by the damage, we would not coat this car! We take a great deal of pride in customer satisfaction and really wouldn’t want to take the money for a coating when we would not be happy. Advised client that we would at least shoot for 80 percent correction and go from there. Multiple cutting steps with Griot’s fast cut cream on a microfiber pad, which hazed the paint. Polished and refined with finishing Sealant on a white fast cut pad. We find this combo works great on paint you really have to work. Finished off with best of show wax. I must note that pictures are after Car wiped with Griot’s paint prep. Thanks for looking!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/c22aa6515c64a4505e6844a9767b939d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/c86a7e478b24df960a05d4f2c8622726.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/5ed157f001dde9c7d9b8bb98a41831e5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/0f9247a5da443e6aa8d086583c5ace20.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/7f2d85b2d874a9020535a48f2eee1cef.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/f330f45e94c4118c6d464c342a6549c1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/cea085223b94f2fd796063b7978e9827.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/9811fceabeb08663bd646ae4d84acebe.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/d9eb241f7ad0cfd70551ac2d38688e05.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/9b1e616751fe9d8fdd91f3151f09bd62.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/f7e6edec8fad75c785388fea15f0e21f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180710/3e35b1a5d950a31c2126163634d378bf.heic

Awesome work. That’s how I’d want my black paint to look it I ever get crazy enough to buy another black car !

I’m curious, Once you cut out the defects and got the paint perfected. Why not coat it ? I would think the remaining CC would be better protected by a coating. I’m just asking because I’ve learned so much reading your posts over the years. To me the only reason not to coat a car is if I cannot achieve a high enough level of correction that satisfies me to the point that I want to lock it
In for the long haul.

Thanks

That’s exactly why we didn’t coat the car. Too many deeper defects that could not be totally removed. As you know , coat over those and they stick out like a sore thumb. As far as poly wax , I love it! Looks great, lasts a good while and is easy to use. We chose best of show because durability was not our concern on this car.

Nice turnaround! It`s unbelievable how much damage can occur in a short period of time!
