Mike:
You are one of the few detailers who will tell a customer the truth and advise them that, no matter what you do, you cannot get out the RIDS (Random, Isolated, Deep Scratches) with the products, polishers, and expertise that you have. And while your expectations and what the customer wants (or demands) may not agree, you have a detailing reputation and business to run. Sometimes you just have to say NO,I cannot, which is really difficult to do. The end result as pictured still speaks for itself.
I must say that many customers still believe the adage, "that will just buff out" concerning deep scratches and gouges. Short of a repaint or some serious wet sanding, it will not. Body shop work and detailing, while related, are sometimes blurred by this misconception. I think every professional and serious hobbyist detailer who does work for others has faced this dilemma at some time.
