Costs $60!

You can order it from the UK? Detailingworld.

The polishes/waxes/pads are from a company called SCHOLL (ceramiclear) - like Menzerna.

Then there is a Hungarian wax there, but I don't know anything about it except what Bence told me.

$60 for a backing plate? I think not. I also did not see them on the DD webpage.

what about the megs solo backing plate, seems pretty similiar and is at least $35 cheaper...

whats so good bout the backing plates?

The cushion of the plate is very flexible, and the plate is extremely safe as it holds the pads like a bomb. Never seen better Velcro.

High quality piece, made in Switzerland. Unfortunately it is very expensive, but on the long run it is worth the price IMO. Here in Hungary most polishers have the M14 thread, but this was a 5/8, which is a tad more expensive than the M14. And because it is rare here I had to order it specially - which was quite a bit adventurous (couple of months!), but finally it is here; I mean, actually there. :D At least I have good 3M connections now...

The Scholl Concepts polishes are used here in Hungary at the Audi plant in Győr, and in the Suzuki plant which builds Suzuki and Fiat models. They are working together with other car manufacturers, who are using SR ceramic finishes.

Interested to hear the feedback on the polishes.

That backing plate looks awesome. Can't wait for that to be a little bit easier to attain.

interesting... so this backing plate is rare? lol... ive never heard of "rare" detailing products (except for zymol and thats not even rare, just expensive). So its a 3m product? so r u like a retailer? do u hav a website?

baseballlover1, no I'm not a retailer and don't have a website.

The 3M backing plate is available in Hungary, and when someone saw a pic in a thread about Paul Dalton, asked that what kind of BP is that. I replied to the poster telling that I have the exact same BP and it is a 3M product.

It is rare, because here basically no one uses a machine with a 5/8 thread. 3M Hungary didn't have it on stock.

OOOOO... hmmm, interesting. If i was interested in purchasing the BP in question who would i talk to? Could i call the 3M North America?

funny thing is that i was wondering what kindof bp dalton was using also lol. it seems he uses it with every since size pad too.
