Zaino Z2

It seems as if the Zaino Z2 never dries. I even left it sit overnight and it just smears when I try to remove it. I am using too much? I seem to never have this problem with the Z5.

Thanks.

It sounds like you are using to much product. I use about 1/4 ounce of product to apply to the whole car. With zaino, you want to apply SUPER thin. I do this by applying an x pattern on the applicator, with the product being about as thick as a spaghetti noodle. Doing this, I can apply to a few panels at a time. If you apply thin, you can remove in about 15-30 minutes.

Thanks for the quick reply.

How should I approach removing the wax now?. It is now obvious that I used too much. It now has been 14 hours since I applied it and it still smears. Do I need to wash the truck again?

I would try a damp towel. Then let it dry overnight again before trying again.

I would second both the wet MF and Z6 approach. Additionally, I would try and wipe up the majority of the Z2 with a dry towel, let it dry for 20 min, and try again. If you can wipe the majority of it off the finish, it should then dry normally.

For future reference, apply so little that you barely see it on the paint. When I apply it, you really can't see any on the paint, and you can check to see if your app still is loaded by doing a swipe on the glass, it should leave behind an even coating of Z2/Z5/CS.

Usually I prime my applicator pad with Z-6. Usually it takes me about an ounce and then if I have left overs then I apply a 2nd layer on my clear bra and hood.

Thanks for the tip.

Now I remember reading that on the Zaino website.

Thanks for the tips guys.....

The damp MF followed by some Z6 worked wonders. However, I will never forget to go lightly on the Z2.

Glad everything worked out for you. Sometimes the best learning experiences are derive from making a small mistake. We have all gone though the application amount event.:nervous2:

Thin is in with Zaino!!:woot2:

Yea, I should try the "Prime the pad with Z6" first trick. Part of me thinks the Z6 after every coat because of need, to remove any remaining haze. That haze is what makes me question my like for Zaino... it's a tough hold to break, let me tell you. ZFX helps some, but humidity is a killer for the entire process.

I'm actually thinking of working Z5 and Z2 in with a black pad at 6k and working it more than I usually do. Not sure this will help, but thinking about it...

High humidity can make applying Z a bit tough to apply. In most cases streaking can be solved by wiping with a damp towell or simply allowing the product extra time to dry. In most cases by the next day they are gone.
