Zaino Z-2 question

I just picked up my new Dodge Mega Cab in Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl and tried the Zaino line for the first time. I used the Z-5 first and it looked great. One coat was all I used. Next I used the Z-2 and it went on just as I expected, but when I went to remove it, all it seemed to want to do was smear. I waited until it dried to a haze, 30 minuets or more. I did these back to back, and I used the additive. I'm sure I am missing something. I had to go over the thing about 3 times with the spray detailer to get it cleaned off.

I think it looked much better with the one coat of Z-5. It may be in my head, But, it kind of looks like it has a slight haze to the paint now. Has anyone had this kind of reaction. I hope this is not a stupid question. I have always used a paste wax on all of my other vehicles, just thought I would try something new.

Thanks for your help.

I'm sure there will be some answers by those more experienced with Zaino's products than I am but I would wonder if the initial Z5 coat needed more curing time before applying the Z2. By the way, it appears that you've been registered for a while but posting only now. Welcome to DC.

Well, it will be hard to be exact without being there but with what you have described I would say that you put it on to thick and did not wait long enough.

Zaino must be put on real thin to dry in thirty minutes. I had to wait a long time the first few times that I applied the Zaino line. Because I appied it to thick. Thin is in when it comes to applying the Z-line.

You did not say how many drops of ZFX you put in to your bottle of Z-2Pro or Z5? You also did not say how much product that you used for each application?

Like I said the first inclination would be to guess that you just put it on to thick. I know that it was easily done thru my personal experience.

I really have learned quite a bit just reading all the info that is here. Man, I thought I was anal!
I did wait about 30 - 45 minuets between the two products. Maybe that is not enough time. It is pretty hot and humid here.

Thanks.

I filled the supplied bottles right at half full of product, with 4 drops in each. I did have a little left of each when I was done.

This is a pretty big truck, but I tried to put it on as thin as I could. Just not used to it I guess.

One ounce of the Z-2 should be able to do a Suburban twice, thats with someone with experience. I still end up with some in the bottle at the end. I would say the combo of the humidity, dry time and the amount you used also the dreaded black paint. If you had some Z-8 or even Z-6 that would combat the problem.

I found that i had bad luck with z8 right after z2 in the summer here in Florida. Best to wait until the next day.

Misting the app. with some Z6 will let you get it on real thin though.

You know it is thin enough if you wonder if any is even on there.

couple tips: apply Zaino thin. If streaking occurs use a damp towel to even out the application. that should remove most smearing. If not, don't panic. Just allow the product a day to fully dry and chances are the streaking will disapear. If you have issues with Z8 streaking cut it with some distilled water.
