Zaino Z-12

I finally got around to using the Zaino Z-12 Glass polish. It is a thick cream, like pudding that is a tint of green.

My test subject was my parents Corolla. The glass is 11 years old and shouldn't have any coating on it (the bottle says not to use on tinted or specially coated glasses, sounds like the new luxery cars glass that beads water.)

Here are th befores

Here is a picture after cleaning with Stoner's Invisible Glass and cotton terry towel. I cleaned it twice on the inside and otuside (passenger side windows.) I give this glass cleaner a thumbs up. It cleaned the glass well and left it invisible. There were no water spots but the glass didn't feel smooth.

Now lets begin the glass polishing

I put a nickel sized dab of glass polish onto thr pad and spread it around the glass. I turned on the PC at speed 2 to spread it evenly. I then worked it in with moderate pressure at 4. I then went over it at 6. I let the glass polish dry. Total time per glass window, 2 minutes working it in.

Here is the residue on the glass

I let it haze for 10 minutes.

Now here are the results after buffing off the residue

The residue came off real easy, like buffing off Blitz wax.

The glass felt a lot smoother and looked clearer.

I give this product a big thumbs up, but its the only glass polsih I haved used.

The Zaino line of products continue to perfom very well.

I only did the passenger side windows. I used around 1/2 an ounce or so. If I did the windshield, rear windshield, and the driver side. I would guess I'll use around 2 ounces.

The next time I have more time I'll whip out my PC and fill up one of the ZFX bottles with 2 ounces of Z-12. Then I'll post results.

Yeah the car needs a wash and bad. The trim definately needs the Meguiars Trim detailer but this cars is a test subject so I let it be, last time this car was washed was last March. Been around 6 weeks since a wash, but those water restrictions has prevented me from washing it. I also want to see how long OEM One-step and Finishign Wax will last..

I have Autogyms polish, and the special polish pads for the PC. There is a difference between Stoners and polish

....I think Zainos windows polish is a little more expensive.

If the Zaino rep from Md ever calls me back I'll be placing an order.....Asking the VA rep if she could help me but no answer so far..

Jason..Really good pictures....When I use Autoglym with PC on my Van (hopefully this weekend) i'll do a post similar to yours.....

Did the polish "fill-in" anything improve any imperfections??

or just made the glass look better...

thks again

jeff

JeffBruce - it just made the glass look better and maybe improve upon the slight swirls on it due to the touchless washes.

Thanks Intermezzo.

leyland - Yeah so, it is wax, what are you going to do about it? Is your car outside 24/7? Are there water restictions where you can't wash you're car?

What kind of practice have you done? What kind of reviews do you write up?

If it was my car I would have it perfect, but this is my test car.

Great review Jason, and very nice job with the Z12! I've always thought the Z12 was a really good product, and I'm glad you had success with it too. Like the rest of the Z line, the glass polish is top notch in my book!

hey mr. L A ...sorry to ruffle your feathers......i did get an e-mail back from chuck bennett at zymol ..... WORD TO SELF ...SPELL CHECK......

So, what did he say? TW or not TW?

Metallic Mike,

I couldn't agree more. The entire line is excellent!

From the looks of things, you used a regular white polishing pad with the Z12. I wonder what the CMA pads would do with the Z12.

Whoa Jay, take it easy, your kind of young to blow a vessel. We all know you can detail a car fairly well ;) :)
