"BLACKFIRE is unlike anything else available. It is the result of over two years of research with state-of-the-art super-polymers. These are paint-friendly, water-based emulsions that mimic all the best characteristics of carnauba waxes without carnauba’s weaknesses. When used together in a 2-step polish and protect procedure they have a synergy that produces a deep, wet, carnauba-like gloss. A shine that shimmers with energy. Unlike carnauba waxes, BLACKFIRE products last for months, not weeks, wipe on and buff off easily without streaks or hazy patches."
Is Blackfire a polymer sealant with the same properties as say Zaino but with a different type of appearance ( reflective/glossy verses carnuaba-like wetness depth and richness)? This may seem like a strange question but after reading the available literature I can not conclusively solve this . Is BF a synthetic carnuaba-like wax from the formulation of several polymers? Does it crosslink and bond to the paint surface like Z and K? BF does mention that it has a cure time of 20 -30 sec which leads me to assume that some cross-linking is occurring. But to what? Itself, the paint surface, or both? Or is it in a class somewhere between polymer sealants ( Zaino/Klasse) and carnuabas? :nixweiss
I realize from doing a search that there have been issues about longevity of BF protectant and lose of initial brillance. This performance leads me to conclude that BF is closer to a carnuaba product with polymer additives similiar to GC, P21S, Pinnacle, etc.
Please prove my conclusion wrong and point me in the direction in order that I can convince myself that this is a full-fledged sealant.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. This is not a knock on BF. I have purchased it from CMA and so far really love the appearance ( very deep and wet) and ease of use. Durability is not an issue. Just its classification... sealant/hi-tech polymer wax. :wavey
