Zaino dust attraction

I went back to Zaino after a long hiatus of using S100 (which I had switched back to after my first Zaino usage). Second thing I noticed after the great shine, is after one drive, the car is dusty again. CCD fixed it. It has attracted more dust sitting garage for a day, than the bare AIO'd paint had in three weeks sitting in the garage.

My solution is to top with S100 after adding two more coats of Z-5. Has anyone come up with a real solution to the Zaino dust attraction problem? Z6 does not help.

I haven't noticed any more dust attraction using Zaino than with any other product. (Black car).

I have 8 layers of Z on my black car. It sat at a Car Show all day last Saturday and I only had to dust it one time (just before judging). And even at that, it wasn't very dusty.

I really think it depends so much on climate, static electricity in the atmosphere, humidity, etc.

I've used Meg's Gold Class, S100, Zaino, and Zymol and I have seen no difference in dust attraction.

Others will disagree, I am sure. But that's my experience.

(BTW, Zaino with an S100 topper is an excellent combo for a deep shine).

Is your car black?

I've had a problem with Zaino and dust attraction before on a couple of vehicles. I found that it was actually better to wash the car with Z-7 after the last coat of Z-2, then Z-6 it. It cut the dust magnet down a lot.

I've noticed that if I don't use Z6 after washing with Z7, there's less dust attraction. I haven't done a side by side comparison yet, but I will soon.

DUST! The back of my Lexus SC430 after Z6 is a dust magnet!

Once I get time to remove the swirls, the car will be topped with Souveran with Zaino under it.

More evidence - In this photo (taken under a single halogen light inside my dark garage, after my car collected dust from a week's worth of driving), there is Zaino on one half, and Meguiar's Gold Class on the other (sorry, you have to guess which). There is ZERO difference in dust attraction/repulsion.

Thanks for the comparison Greg.

Hmmm.... a 996tt and an M5... Did I mention I don't like you Greg?

They're beautiful.

I remember your test well Greg. But it is hard for me to ignore 16 months of driving with either Zaino or P21S on the entirety of the car. I have never done a side by side test and there are many variables that need to be controlled. So all I can do at this point is top with S100 and see if dust attraction goes down. I'm confident that it won't go up at least!

I will say that I have never had to dust my car as much with S100 on the surface, as I had with Zaino. Could it be different seasons skewing my results? Could it be that as S100 deteriorates, it attracts less dust, fooling me (because S100 deteriorates much faster than Zaino)? Don't have time to find out for myself unfortunately! Perhaps I will try topping a portion of the rear panels, and that would suffice for my mini-test.

try production car care's "anti static showroom conditioner". Its like a QD but it cuts down the static electricity that attracts dust.I have used this stuff on my tv and pc moniter(along with my cars)...it works wonders. The bronco can sit in the garage for a week and look like I just washed it.

If one has access to water pipes and jumper cables, try grounding the frame of the vehicle during and (+/- 8 hours) after the product application. That should eliminate the static electricity concerns.

Works for me.
