Z PC vs Anything?

I am going to start detailing my cars and wanted some suggestions.

I am going to be doing all of this by hand and would like something to get rid of small scratches and swirl marks.

I was looking at the Zanio line and liked what Z PC sounded like. Easy to use and no buffer. I am also interested in the Klause twins but is there anything in thier line that will do the same thing as Z PC for scratch removal and polishing.

I really don't want to over polish my paint I'm more interested in getting the paint looking good and then keeping it well protected.

Thanks for all your help.

Randy,

Z-PC is not going to remove scratches. In fact, unless you use a compound, removing scratches by hand is difficult. Meguiar's ScratchX works well for spot scratches if you rub very briskly.

Z-PC is easy to apply, but when applied by hand it is little more than a paint cleaner. I have not been able to get Z-PC to remove swirl marks when used by hand. Use by machine, this polish will lighten swirl marks with one use. After 2-3 uses by machine, fine swirl marks will be gone.

I agree with David to an extent. Used alone, by hand, Z-PC isn't very aggressive. Throw some water into the mix, though, and it becomes more suited to removing moderate swirling, especially by machine. Use a damp applicator pad or liberally mist your pad with water and see if you don't get better cutting from it. I usually do, depending on the clearcoat of course.
