PA DETAILER

DETAILED TODAY?
we all have different lifestyles. for us outside weekend detailers whats your favorite time of day to detail?

for me (crazy) early saturday morning. about 6am during the summer. before the sun and heat. i just look foward to this after a long week at work. the ultimate saturday morning therapy.

I am really early am for washing. etc. I may wash a car late in the PM to have it ready early am.

i'll start early in the morning if i know the detail will take all day, otherwise the mornings are better for me. need to get the pets situated first before starting.

Morning here. I usually start about 8:00am and which gives me a good part of the day to work. I have a 2011 Elantra to do today so as soon as it arrives I'll be out there...:bigups

I love to AM detailing as well. My driveway doesn't get a lot of shade so it's either very early in am or after 4pm.

For a wash and a quick detailing I do it Friday after work late in the afternoon and that way it is ready for the weekend and Saturday car shows if I am attending one. I have done one Full detail and I started on a early afternoon to evening and started again the next day early afternoon to late afternoon. The reason for that was late fall and it didn't warm up until afternoon so it was nice enough to work in the garage.

Dean. :D

Depends on the season. If its winter, mornings are terrible because its so cold. If its summer, late afternoons are miserable because its so hot. As long as Ive got a shady and quiet place to work, and its between 50 and 80°, Im good. In the Midwest, thats about 3 weeks out of the year lol.

Around 7-8 in the morning. Just got done with a black 2000 Vette, so I figured I would take a break and log in.

Yep mornings are great!!

I am not a morning person... I get up when I need to but prefer to work at night. My "day" job is second shift so I like to carry that schedule over into my weekends.

I can detail any time of the day. It doesn't matter. It could be in the middle of midnight and I will still go out and scrub my car if I feel it needs to be done...

I have to say, recently I started setting my alarm on my days off to get out there early. I'm not into getting up early, I hate it. But, if I start a like 7:30, I'm amazed how early it is when I'm getting done. I can work 4 hours and its only 11:30 !!! That's when I would usually start, and I'd finish and the day would be shot. Also, the temps and sun is much better early.

Of course when I'm done I eat a bunch of food and end up taking a nap.

I don't have many options, as my only access to a soft water supply is on the east side of our garage (using softened water is important in the desert). From now, until late fall, I have to wait until late in the evening, as that is also when high temperatures begin to subside. Low humidity, coupled with high temps makes washing difficult even with softened water, because of the very fast drying times.

This isn't too far off may pattern but I'm usually up 5:00AM everyday (we have dogs that need to go out, no clock alarm needed). Given a choice I usually try to get as much work as possible done in the 7:00 or 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM window. The only catch is that we quite a few super humid, cool, foggy mornings here and I occasionally have to wait for things to dry out a bit. I usually take a break in the early afternoon and get back to it around 3:30 PM or 4:00 PM.

I would like to start early in the morning. Like 8-9am. If I'm just doing a simple wash noon is fine. I would detail in the night if I had a big garage like some of you.

I do most of my of my wash-&-wax in the late afternoon.

Unfortunately the sun shine into my garage all morning until around noon. Although while doing a full detail I will start in the morning and just shut the door.
